Is this a scam??? Culinary Brides

Deanna, on January 25, 2012 at 7:23 PM Posted in Planning 0 55

So I go a phone call today from a lady by the name of Amanda from culinary brides saying that I have won some gifts and to hurry and call because she can only hold them for a short time. It was from a blocked number so I didnt answer it. I called the number that she had left on my voice mail and they said she wasnt availible. I left my phone number for her to call back but they never did. I regret giving them my number. Is this a scam?

More than likely, yes. Have you recently attended a bridal show or done something with Davids Bridal where they needed your phone number? These seem to be the most common ways that these scams get bride's info.

Its a cooking demonstration to buy their cookware. For sitting though it you get a certificate for free rings or a mini vacations. The demonstration was dumb and we saw right through it. We did get the certificate and the rings are nice but you can get the rings free anyway by using the code brides. The vacation is just the hotel. I wouldn't go but that's me.

I received a call from Culinary Brides yesterday. I called them back today. The show that they want my fiance and I to attend is tonight (this is the last night) they are in the area. Sounds a little fishy. I appreciate the feedback posted here. Not sure if I want to spend 1.5 hours of my evening doing this. To those that have attended, was it worth it?

I got this phone call as well.. And do not think I will be attending. It would be nice to get 3 days and 2 nights but why couldnt they just verify then mail this certificate to us? Im not driving out of my way for a potential scam.

I have nothing but good things to say about this company. First we received 2 free matching wedding bands, then we received a membership from passport to value just for spending 90 minutes my time. I highly recommend Culinary Bride, no scam.

I got this call too! I haven't called back cause I couldn't tell what the number was. I also got a call from Bella Bride with pretty much the same thing. I went to the show myself and they're telling me I can't get the gift if my fiance isn't with me, but he works nights so he can't go. Kinda irritating!

Afternoon girls! I received this call, as well as the one from the Bella Bride. I attended a Bridal Show on Sunday and got a call that evening! They make it sound so great when they call, but they are very pushy to get you to make an appointment. My fiance was very skeptical and we decided it was not worth it. We looked up Bella Bride to see what the upgrade options could be for the locations and the hotel rooms did not look very good. I understand that you could get some things for attending and for some, it's probably a great deal. It just wasn't worth it to us to go through the hassle. Have fun if you do end up going!!

I went and it was really not bad. The guy who did the presentation (Rick) was quick and got to the point. The cookware was really nice and we were not pressured in any way to buy. We did purchase a small package because we have been talking about getting new cookware (I like to cook.). My fiance was not happy about having to sit through the presentation, but he was ultimatley happy to purchase the new cookware. With purchasing the cookware, we got the 3 day mini vacation, coupon book, the Tungsten wedding bands gift card, and a 5 day trip to Bahamas. Reading the fine print and listening to Rick we know we will need to pay a refundable $100 to book the trip, airfare, and taxes for the trip, but nothing is free.

@Courtney J. You only get the Bahamas and Hawaii trip if you buy the 3-set piece from what I was told. We signed up for the 3-set.

ITS A SCAM!! I went to the "fast-talker" meeting. Now we have good credit. ChefWorld called my fiance demanding for a $1200 down-payment instead of the $133.78 as promised. He said HELL NO!! Not only that, we called about the vacations because we lost the Bahamas trip. They ONLY willing to pay for the hotel stay in the USA, anywhere else you on your own. At the meeting he also told us they cover room service and all we need to do is put the wallet in the drawer because we won't need it. THAT WAS A LIE!! After called them back she told us they don't cover room service or the activities we do once we get there, ONLY the hotel stay. After doing some research online, I heard they don't even cover that and the hotel bills you on your credit card; you never get your money back. The only thing real is the wedding bands. GET wedding bands and GET OUT!

I have the chefworld product line and are very pleased with the quality. I met this firm at a bridal show and decided to go to their product preview. We were offered 2 JVL wedding bands or hotel accommodations. The cookware is high quality and is very easy to use. Their cutlery is fantastic which making fresh veggies a breeze. I highly recommend going and giving 90 minutes of your time.

I feel like all the positive comments left on this blog are people from culinary brides. Especially the one posted on May 7. Do not listen to them. Its not a scam but its a waiste of time. You can get those things with out listening to their 2hr speech

I just got this call from Joanna as well at the same number listed by Jenni K. She spoke so fast that I too had to listen to the call a few times.

Thanks for the feedback ladies! I will definitely not be calling.
