Is this bad?

Sydney, on February 23, 2022 at 12:50 AM Posted in Planning 0 14
So my wedding budget is no more than 3500$. My venue is paid off and all I have left to do is pay catering off and figure out decor and activities and how the day should flow. Is it bad that I don’t have a planner, coordinator, or a designer/decorator? I just can’t afford them. All three especially and I don’t know what to do or how to bring my vision alive. Help?!

It’s completely normal to have no planner, coordinator and decorator. Smiley smile What is your wedding theme and how much of your budget is going to decor/ activities? Do you already have centerpieces?

That's not a bad thing. I don't have a planner and my wedding is almost done being planned. I am working on final details and paying stuff off. Honestly I think it is what you prefer and can afford. Sounds silly but a planner would have stressed me out
What kind of theme/vision bare you thinking? Do you have colors you are pulling towards or using? Dose the venue have items you can use or rent?

I have not decided my theme yet just because I feel like the original couldn’t match the venue, which was a boho style but still clean and elegant yanno? My colors are burgundy, rust orange, ivory, and sage green. The venue only has chandeliers, drapery, and lighted drapes from the ceiling. It also has basic flowers around the balcony on the top floor (inside the room)

Sounds like your venue has already some great decor. Honestly I’d say focus on your tables for decor. If you don’t have a theme yet, I’ll throw some ideas. You can use tea light candles, I buy mine from the dollar store. You can put them in vases. To do the floating candle look. Also I’ve seen repurpose wine bottles, where they are used as vases. I’d suggest doing a grouping with them, with varies sizes. See if any of your family or friends drink wine and take their left over bottles. Lastly you can do no drip candles, just make sure to have something underneath them.

For activities I’d suggest bringing in card games, where you have them in a basket. Where people can borrow them. They can have many game options and others can join in. Just chose card games with shorter play time. But of course do whatever is calling to your heart. I hope the rest of your wedding planning goes well.

I'm in the same boat. Its not bad at all. There is nothing wrong with using what you have to make beautiful memories that last forever. I actually think it makes it extra special because of the hard work you put into it. 💚🤍

What’s yours budget? We originally wanted 2500 but with everything adding up so fast we had to redo it. I’m not a fan of big and expensive weddings. I think intimate is the way to go! I was so mad at even having one, because lord knows how much I could have done with the money 😩

Any decor tips? I don’t want to spend over 300$ for it.

No! I am doing everything that I can myself. If you are willing to put in the time and DIY on most things, do not waste your money for other people to do it. To me I love crafts.

Do you have room in your budget for a photographer, officiant, and tips?

No ma’am. I don’t. My cousin took some photography classes so we were going to pay her a little bit to do our photos. My dad may cover tips for the makeup artist and such but I’m not totally sure. Our officiant is my husband boss. He is super sweet and is doing it for free and his wife is making our cake. (She’s done many wedding cakes)

What are you crafting?!? I’d love to see! Shout out to you for your creativity! I’m doing my own centerpieces and hopefully a diy photo booth.

Hello, hope is all well. My wedding is Sept. 10th 2022. I went with a hotel to do everything for me because i just wanted to show up. I have my cousin to be my coordinator, friend to help with some of my decorations. If you can get people to help you then no you really don't need all of that. I know it is still over whelming for me and it will be for you. Try to figure out what you really want and what you can do without as far as the help needed.
