Is this tacky?

Okay, so again I'm on my 'invitation' kick. <grin> I am going with pocket invitations, which has a ton of information right there for our guests. I am playing around with the "dinner" portion of the card. I will actually describe the 3 entree choices, so guests will know what "beef" , "chicken" and "fish" actually entail. We are paying for beer, wine and soda. The venue cannot do a cash bar.

So - taking all that in to consideration, is it tacky to PUT that on the invite? Like "All entrees will include a house salad, beer, wine and soft drinks. A cash bar is not available."

I thought it would save a ton of confusion, since there IS an actual BAR in the venue, but it will only be serving the yacht club patrons who are dining there in the private dining room, NOT any other guests. (Yacht club members have a standing account - the bar does not handle cash or credit card transactions)

Thanks for your input! I have a LOT of time to think about this. Smiley laugh

In my opinion wedding invites are a cute little keepsake for guests. & most of the time you want to create a sort of 'intimate' feel. I suggest sticking to tradition on the wedding invites. & maybe do a separate meal card where you can include the no cash bar. You could place it on the guests plates sort of like a place card and do something a little different for seating like a big seating chart sign at your entrance!

I am purchasing pocket wedding invitations. When you open the folded invite, the actual wedding script is what you see. To the side is a pocket, with separate cards for RSVP, guest info and menu, directions or whatever else I want to put on there. So, pretty invite with important details all in one handy-dandy place. 😁Is this tacky? 1

I wouldn’t include that part on the invitation. It shouldn’t be an expectation as a guest to expect there to be alcohol provided in the first place and it should always just be a nice surprise. If you really want to let people know, then just include a section in your Q&A section on your website.

I’m gonna say some thing that seems a little controversial to this crowd. I don’t think putting that information as you specified would be a bad thing. It may not have been done before but that’s because not a lot of brides have been in your situation before! If you don’t want to put it on the invitation maybe put it on the wedding website if you have one. But if it’s all on paper, and the RSVP is on paper too, I would put it on there personally.
