I always thought (yeah, tacky, I know) that if people invite me for their weddings, they actually want me to be there. But now I understand people do not expect all of their guests to show up, which is also tacky. We currently have 2 tacky invitations for 2 weddings this summer. I’m wondering if we...

I always thought (yeah, tacky, I know) that if people invite me for their weddings, they actually want me to be there. But now I understand people do not expect all of their guests to show up, which is also tacky.

We currently have 2 tacky invitations for 2 weddings this summer. I’m wondering if we are among those tacky guests who should decline but to the couple’s tacky surprise, we accept? Before you say anything negative, I understand it’s tacky we haven’t RSVPed before we received the invitations.

Is it tacky if I call the couples and ask them if that really want us to show up? Or should we decline and just send them a tacky gift?

Please help, but don’t comment if you’re going to say something tacky. Thanks!

    I'm sticking to my guns and still only posting on this thread. Which is good, because today there are quite a few posts that I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole! The old RayRay would have buuuut I'd hate to get called out again.....

    You know maybe I am doing it wrong. I should pray for them to quit being stupid. I am just praying for the stupid. maybe the big guy thinks I want them to be more stupid? Wow it is all in the wording.

    Is it me or does it seem like this thread seems to be on of the few with positive vibes and no bickering and arguing? What the heck has been goin on lately!

    And the new posts are kinda just....blah. I want WW BACK!

    We did.... and we succeeded! This is the only thread, as far as I know, in WW history, that got almost 500 comments...

    Being that this has gotten soo big, I have no idea if someone's said this yet.

    But bearing importance from another "is this tacky" thread. I wish sooooo much I could say "if you have to ask if it's tacky, then you already know the answer is YES IT'S TACKY!!!"

    We all know we have to send invitations to friends/family that are out of town or out of state in my case, that you have to invite but knowing their situation they most likely won’t come. They are being respectful. BUT, it’s tacky to invite everyone under the sun just to get money out of them.
