I found a keepsake unity sand set I like on the davids bridal website. You can have the names and date evgraved on the glass and I like it alot. My fiance had never heard of the unity sand before and when I brought it up he said he thought the whole idea of it was stupid and keeps calling it a 'sand...

My fiance had never heard of the unity sand before and when I brought it up he said he thought the whole idea of it was stupid and keeps calling it a 'sand art'. He likes the candle but says we can do whatever I want. What is everyone else's opinion???

I think the sand/candle thing is played out, personally.

We are doing a "wine box". I am ordering two wine glasses with our initials on them. We will have a bottle of wine to toast with (same one we shared on our first date). That day, FH and I will each write a letter to each other that neither of us will see, about our feelings, hopes, dreams, and anticipations as we get married. We will put the letters in the box, and toast with a promise not to open them til our 1 year anniversary (our officiant will be guiding us through the toast, the promise, explaining to our guests what we're committing to). On our first year anni, we will buy another bottle of wine, and read the letters for the first time that we wrote on our wedding day. Then, we will write another to be opened the following year. And so on and so forth.

I think it's a great way to look back on the prior years and see how our marriage evolves, and an awesome tradition to establish for our future!
