From where to where? And for whom? As a guest, I would prefer to drive my own car than be at the mercy of another person/driver.

    Let them just drive themselves.

If i were a guest planning to be too drunk to drive, i wouldn't care what my transportation looked like. go for it!

Many people have a shuttle from the hotel to the reception and back so that guests do not drink and drive. I don't see a problem in using a school bus for this service if that is what fits your budget.

My guests are staying all over town so they are driving themselves but are encouraged to carpool if they want to drink

IMO I wouldn't do a school bus unless one of us was a teacher or it was part of our theme.

Nope - if that's what's in your budget, go for it. By the end of the night, I'm sure those who have been drinking won't care what gets them back to the hotel.

I think it depends on how formal your wedding is.

Honestly yes I think that's tacky. A big yellow school bus??

BUT if your event isn't that casual and it's more laid back then I guess it doesn't matter.

I know several people who have used a school bus. No one ever complained. Safety First!

Not at all!! It is actually most logical...not too many options to fit large amounts of people. My venue has a shuttle...but only shuttles to their own winery/hotel, which is a different location than the vineyard. Am hoping there will be other shuttles with some of the hotels I will block.

We're using a school bus, but it's a white school bus for weddings. It's the same as a yellow one, just painted white.

Honestly, we could afford a shuttle but, the school bus is much more affordable and we don't have to provide transportation at all.

I think your guests will thank you for providing transportation in general.

I think it's great if it gets people home safely! I agree it works best if you're having a more casual wedding though.

I don't hate it! I'd rather be transported in a big yellow school bus than have to arrange my own transportation after (probably) a night of drinking.

I think it can work. see if there's a company in your area that does alternative buses (in university the bus that took groups out clubbing or to other big events was called "magic bus" and had a painted ceiling, music, etc.).

A school bus is fine. It's nice that you're offering transportation.

It's fine. I think most guests will appreciate it. We almost did it but it wasn't that much more for a little shuttle bus with A/C (we're getting married in the summer.)
