I wouldn't care if I saw a bus pulling up. I would just be stoked there is transportation offered. Every wedding I attended, I loved the couple and I know I wouldn't think... "look how tacky"...do what works and is economically smart for you.

How in the world can you get a bus? Just curious... are you a teacher? I wouldn't think a school is eager to lend out.

Not tacky, pretty awesome that you would be offering transportation! I've heard of a school bus being used quite a bit, and have not heard any negative remarks about it.

The whole 'tackiness' thing also depends on your crowd, I think. The word can get thrown around on here a lot but ultimately, will your friends/family be judging what you are providing for them? I want to guess not likely, and if they are judging, it's probably to give you bonus points for pre-planning transportation. That's my $0.02!

My guests enjoyed it and sung the whole 40 min ride home. Got a coach bus and school bus for less than 100

We are doing a school bus! I'm a teacher and several of the BP peeps are in education too. Since we will all be going back to the vacation rental after the wedding we wanted one to serve as a party bus. Nothing more amazing than tipsy teachers on a school bus...I want to get photos on it with the FH out the emergency door to hang in my classroom one day lol!

...and yes Hot For Teacher will probably be the garter toss song Smiley winking

Oh i love it, that's great. I am not a teacher just trying to provide transportation at a reasonable cost.

No! First its not your job to worry how guests get to the wedding, so anything you do to make things easier for them is a bonus. Part two- we are using a school bus, because i dont want anyone to drive drunk.

I think it's a great idea, and a lot of school buses have been renovated into party buses. It wouldn't be tacky, and it's what you can afford.

If you're doing a hotel block, check with the hotel, and see if they have a shuttle for special events. Ours does and we're renting it for $200. It's going to transport people to/from the hotel to the rehearsal dinner and then to/from the wedding.

It's a little odd.....but you're going above and beyond by providing your guests with transportation, so I doubt anyone would complain. They will be happy they don't have to drive, no one will care it's a school bus.

After a long night of drinking, I wouldn't care what took me to my hotel! Any kind of provided transportation is awesome!

Maybe I missed this, but doesn't the hotel have a shuttle? Is that an option?

All I can think of is this would be a great scene in Grown-Ups 3! LOL

I think it will be an absolute blast - especially knowing my family and friends from Long Island! I am pretty sure it will be very much appreciated and gives a unique twist for your wedding that everyone will remember :-) Any one who wants invite to a party and make sure I don't have to drive on LI? AWESOME!

My hotel offers numbers for shuttles at a discounted rate but they sit 12 people per van and would have to make trips
