New ring that we designed together. FH is very traditional and wanted a diamond solitaire. I like more sentimental and unique; and wanted a sapphire. We designed this ring together and it’s perfect. He proposed at the Ice Castles and this is my perfect piece of ice that never melts. And the sparkle is freaking amazing! It’s so glittery that I get distracted sometimes. 😍

Family heirloom.

His great grandma passed about a year after we got together. That side of his family absolutely loved me and I them. When his "Granny" passed, I was heart broken. She had specifically left me a music box with dolphins dancing on the top. what I didn't know was she had also given FH her ring to give to me. We still wish we had gotten married while she was still here to attend but we will be saving her and my own grandmother a seat.

My FH and I took a 3hr trip to Chicago to meet with a diamond whole saler. The only way we could get in is if we were designers and had a licens, my uncle is so he got us through the door. We designed my perfect ring! We had only been dating for 4 months at that time. I had no idea when the ring came in even tho I did snoop (I hate surprises)! Once I told him that I would love my family to be around when he popped the question. I “accidentally” planned my own engagement by suggesting to my FH that we should invite the whole family to the lake for a weekend. Everyone was sneaking around the whole day but I knew it was going to happen for sure after FH started hiding his phone conversations from me which he never does (he always puts everyone on speaker). They told me to get ready so we could take a family photo all the while they were outside decorating. My mom came up and kept telling me to put on more blush and more lipstick trying to stall me of course. He did it that evening on the beach surrounded by our family. It was wonderful! Even though I knew about it I didn’t have to fake any of the emotions I had when he actually asked the question! Hands shook and words stuttered!

Mine is my FHs moms ring from her first marriage to his dad
....his dad sadly passesed away a few years ago

Mine was my Great Grandmother's ring! My great grandfather bought it for her before he left for Vietnam, they got married the same day. 61 years later he passed away and she passed away about six years after him, she wore her set every single day from the moment she got it and at the end, she put them in my hands. I plan on wearing her band too! We were very close and it still sometimes makes me cry to think about!

My ring is new. My fh and I was talking about getting married. So one day we went to the mall and he said to me lets go into the store because I want to get some information on buying a ring. So we go into the jewelers and he got the information he needed and then he asked me to go pick out my ring. And I did.

Have you thought about what style of wedding band you would like?

My husband gave me his mother’s ring, which we believe is about 45-50 years old. When his mother passed, he inherited a lot of her jewelry. So he secretly went through his “stash” and found this ring a while before he ever asked me to marry him. He was going to take me out to a nice restaurant and propose there, but one day in the fall we had had a fantastic day together and we went back to his house for dinner. He got so excited, he ended up popping the question when I came out of the bathroom - and HE cried! Lol. Then he made me a candle light meatloaf dinner. I couldn’t make this up. It’s one of my sweetest memories.
