iso Affordable Caterers in Austin, tx

Madison, on May 25, 2020 at 2:58 PM Posted in Texas Planning 0 8

With businesses slowly opening back up I am optimistic that we will still be able to host our wedding on 03/27/2021 (fingers crossed)! Due to a HUGE miscommunication on my part, our catering budget is now $3,000 tops (including service, not just the food). We'd love to have fajitas/tex-mex, buffet style, and possibly passed apps if possible, but I know we're working with such a small budget...are we crazy?! Can we feed 125 people for 3k?? If you have any recommendations or advice please send them my way! Thank you in advance! (Also, the venue is technically in Hutto, Tx so caterers in Round Rock or Georgetown will work too)

Ask your favorite Tex-Mex restaurant. They will provide a ton of food without the unnecessary extras that jack up the price.

Realistically that’s tight but I’m sure someone out there can accommodate you. Like PP said find your favorite restaurant and maybe use some friends or your bridal party to help serve food. Although I’m not sure how that works with all this COVID stuff now.

    Renee,

Thank you for the advice! Assuming we'll be able to have our wedding next year, I'll definitely look into food serving requirements.

No problem! I was also thinking maybe displayed apps might be more economical as well. That way you won’t have to cover the service charge of having servers. Assorted trays like cheese, fruit, meats and veggies can go a long way.

Yes! Plated would probably work better over a passed app. I definitely like the simplicity of an assorted tray!

If you can afford it, hire a group of college kids to serve so your guests don't have to work.

Not a bad idea! If it comes down to it, I might look into that!
