Issue with adding new vendor for my vendor list

My DJ does not have a profile on here, so he doesn't show up when I search for him. I go to the option to add a new vendor, complete all the fields and hit save and it will not show up on my vendor lists and it doesn't show that I have hired a vendor for that field. Has anyone had this happen and know how to fix it? I'll have the same issue with my officiant, because a close family friend is doing that.
