It’s all in the details

LOVE this forum idea! Our photographer does some really pretty flatlays, So I haven't really done any research on them! Here are a couple of examples of ones she's done! I just love how clean and crisp everything looks, which is my vibe!

They are at the top of my “must haves” list for my photographer. I love how they tell the story of your wedding. Couldn't agree more! I'm def. going to keep an extra of our invitation too to add to it! Our photographer also just added a bunch of pretty stamps, ribbon, and extras to her details inventory so I'm so excited to see what she comes up with!

Yes!! I definitely want her to get some detail shots of our venue and décor, and also the groom's details flatlay! I'm not a fan of getting ready photos either, but I did ask her to get a few photos of me and my ladies in our getting ready outfits and us drinking our mimosas! But I just don't find it necessary to have her spend time getting photos of my makeup and hair being done, I'm never going to print those out or put them in an album lol.

We got married a week after you and are still waiting for our pictures (should come back this week). I am a bit nervous. I talked with our photographer briefly that I love to get detail shots - but we did not talk about this in detail (which I regret now - seeing your pictures). I hope she captured enough of those. I put so much work into all the small details of the decoration and the wedding - hopefully we'll have some pictures. I know we didn't get a picture of my dress, because I was rushing to get into the dress because we were running a bit late. I am bit sad. But I took pictures before.

We were rushing from the moment we arrived but I was glad the photographer still got the details. We didn’t talk much about them, I just handed her the different items and she did her thing.
I’m sure your photographer took pictures of your different decor stuff. Can’t wait to see your pictures!

I agree. I was so glad she got all these. The only thing she didn’t get that I would have liked was a picture of our cutting cake and the cupcake display. We have pictures of us cutting the cake but not a good clean shot of the cake and cake topper and none of the cupcakes or food displays.

I love all of these. The detail shots are really what I like looking at from wedding photos, to be honest.

I don't really have any detail shots from my wedding - we forgot our invitation and I didn't really have any accessories. My only detail shots are of the bouquets, really.

Going to do things very differently for our vow renewal. I have several very special items, like something made from my wedding dress (either a handkerchief or a clutch, I haven't decided yet) and a bear brooch in honor of my dad. Also going to go very unique with our invitations, so I want to make sure we get photos of it.

These are some of my insiration pics. I will also have my aunt do the "getting ready" photos with up-close shots of shoes, jewelery, etc. Definitely going to get one of my dress hanging next to my maid of honor's! The venue has huge windows on the enclosed porch so I am hoping to do that one there.
