It's Our Two Year (dating) Anniversary Today!

8Bitbek, on August 26, 2019 at 3:27 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 48

In honor of my anniversary with my fiance, I thought I'd ask the married folk here: do you still celebrate both anniversaries, or do you only observe your wedding anniversary? To those of your who aren't married yet, will you celebrate both?

Ours would have been great if we got married the original date we planned. It was the 6 month mark of our dating anniversary. But we got married a week before that!
We havent hit the dating anniversary yet but if we do celebrate it I doubt it will be anything super crazy.

I suspect our dating anniversary will become much less important once we have a wedding anniversary but I think we’ll still acknowledge both.

I'm not married yet but I plan to celebrate both. The day we started dating is a date night the day we get married will be weekend getaways. My oldest son was also born in May when we got together so I'd rather spend more on parties for him the worrying about a big fancy anniversary, September will be when we worry about that

I don’t know when our “dating anniversary” is anymore. We were on and off for a while before finally settling down and deciding we were supposed to be together and wanted to get married. As such, we’ll only be celebrating our wedding anniversary.
Most likely, we would still only be celebrating our wedding anniversary even if our dating anniversary was still set in stone, and I don’t actually know of anyone who celebrates both.

We have never really celebrated our dating anniversary so I doubt we will at all after we get married on Saturday!

Not married yet but will definitely celebrate both 😭 even now we celebrate month-iveraries lol so every month on the 10th we always make it special even though we’ve been together 4.5 years 😍

I was also wondering what other couples would do! My fiancé and I have been together for 7 years so we will probably still acknowledge it, but not really celebrate it after we marry.

We'll probably acknowledge it but not really celebrate it much after the wedding. It's in January and our plans are almost always ruined by weather or colds which is why we picked a wedding date when the weather is usually still nice.

Our dating anniversary was a general guess anyway since we didn't really pay attention to the exact date. Just knew it was May-ish 2013. We aren't planning to celebrate our dating anniversary anymore. We didn't even celebrate it this year, as our wedding was about 2 months later.

Congratulations! FH and I haven't thought about this yet, but we'll probably do a little celebration for our dating anniversary Smiley smile

We still celebrate both. We celebrated our 4 year dating anniversary this last year by spending the weekend at a B&B in Napa. Our 2 year wedding anniversary will be in December. Not sure what we'll do yet.

Our solution is to get legally married on the anniversary of our first kiss.

We'll just celebrate our wedding anniversary. It wasn't intentional at all, but our dating anniversary is 2/11 and our wedding date is 11/2. I realized a couple months after setting the date that they were the same numbers, just flipped. It's a fun coincidence. Smiley smile

FH and I acknowledge our dating anniversary but have actually started celebrating our "negative" wedding anniversary. Since we will be engaged so long, we didn't want to wait.

Our first date was on April 12 but we’ve broken up gotten back together, we have our engagement date, the date we started talking, I think we really only need to celebrate our wedding anniversary.

We will probably make out dating anniversary a date night like PP says and then do something bigger for our wedding anniversary

FH and I actually celebrate the day we MET because it was very significant for us (even though we didn’t officially date until 3 years later). But after we’re married, we’ll still celebrate both dates. We have a fun name for the day we met, plus it gives us a laugh and is nice memory and story.

To be fair, we didn't really celebrate it before we got married, but no, we don't celebrate our dating anniversary

I'd like to still celebrate both since our dating anniversary is new year's day! Maybe just with a card or such. Likely keep the gifts etc to the wedding anniversary. We don't celebrate valentine's day, so I think two special days is fair 😁.
