Jamaica resorts

J, on December 7, 2020 at 1:34 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 14
Hello ladies! I am planning to wed in May 2021. Does anyone have any feedback on any upscale, romantic, all inclusive resorts in Jamaica (besides Sandals)? I looked at the TripAdvisor pics and the pictures did not look up to date. Maybe I should have checked their site. We want to have the ceremony and honeymoon there. Thank you in advance!

I went to Excellence El Carmen in Punta Cana for my honeymoon and absolutely loved it. My parents have also been to one of their properties in Mexico and felt the same (and between us, we've gone to a good number of higher-end all- inclusive resorts). They have a property in Jamaica called Oyster Bay that I would check out. I considered it for my honeymoon but we opted for Punta Cana because the Dominican Republic is where we went for our 1st vacation, so it was a little meaningful for us. Otherwise, the Jamaica location looked amazing.

May I ask, Are you looking for more options in general or did you decide that you definitely didn't want sandals?

We have a married couple that go to the Sandals resort in Jamaica & absolutely loved it. They did say that some of the rooms need to be updated but the location was gorgeous. There are several Sandals resorts & they choose an older location due to finances.

Both. I am looking for an all inclusive resort, but I also heard Sandals is nice. I wanted feedback on both.

I went to Excellence Playa Mujeres in Cancun as that was recommended as the top one of the locations for that resort but I know they have a location in Jamaica. I loved the resort and my husband and I would go back.

I would recommend the Riu in either Ocho Rios or Montego Bay! The Montego Bay is super convenient to the airport, but then you have airplanes overhead. The Ocho Rios is a little further out, but SO worth it!

Iberostar Grand Rose Hall in Montego Bay is incredible!! It's an adult only resort but you have access to the sister properties that share the grounds. The food is incredible, the staff was so friendly, the drinks were flowing all day...I literally cannot rave enough about this resort. It's like 20 minutes from the airport but you don't see or hear the planes at all. Highly, highly recommend. And the price is super affordable! (Based off of a 6 day/5 night trip in October and booked through Cheapcaribbean.com)

Here's the direct link for the resort: https://www.iberostar.com/en/hotels/montego-bay/iberostar-grand-rose-hall/

This was my first pick!!! But we are having family and a couple of friends come in for about two nights; I am just concerned about them. You mentioned it’s an adult resort. My daughter is in the wedding; then she’s being flown back to the good ol USA. lol Is she allowed at the resort?

So she wouldn't be allowed at the Grand Rose Hall but would be at the other two. They're all literally right next to each other/connected. All three are different price points too. When I was there, we went over the the Rose Hall Beach resort for a day and it was just as nice. I don't know what the rooms are like but I can't imagine they're much different from Grand Rose Hall. You could always stay at the Rose Hall Beach for the wedding and then do your honeymoon (if you're planning on staying for your honeymoon!) at the adults only. Regardless of which one you stay at, if you stay at the Iberostar you will have a phenomenal time!
