Anyone else getting married in the next month? We are requiring vaccines for our guests and providing masks but the number of breakthrough cases has me feeling super stressed. We are considering asking everyone to take a covid test before the wedding as well but my fiancé thinks thinks this is overkill. What precautions are you all taking?

Such a bummer- sorry you have this stress.. I’m praying by July it’s not so bad - the worst is trying ti see what is going on day by day… ugh. Best of luck to you!

Just checking up and wondering how your January wedding went? My wedding is also coming up at the end of January...

Thanks for asking. It was a wonderful day! We’re 5 days after the wedding and no positive covid cases from any of our guests. We wound up having 56 people total. We did have about 16 people cancel the week of the wedding, though only half of these cancellations were covid related. Two of those cancellations were positive covid tests the day of the wedding (since our guests were asked to take a rapid test the day of the wedding).

One of my colleagues went to a wedding the weekend before mine and they had zero safety measures in place. They had about 75 guests attend and around 20 of them tested positive for covid within 72 hours including their officiant, the groom, and their DJ.
We don’t have any regrets about the safety measures we took. Our hair and makeup team offered to take covid tests the day of the wedding which we really appreciated. All our vendors wore masks and were happy to comply. Our guests all had a great time and we are thankful everyone, including our vendors, remains healthy!

Found this thread and wanted to know how any of the above weddings went for people who required vaccinations and masks at their wedding? Did a lot of ppl get sick? Were you stressing about it the whole day? Were you still able to have a good time.

I'm a Feb 26th bride and I am deeply depressed and not looking forward to my wedding at all anymore. Our guest list is fairly large (about 170) though many have backed out due to just surge concerns/breakthrough worries or because of our vaccine requirement (which for the record, I'm actually super happy about...i wanted a small wedding to begin with but my FH's family is just too large). I'm praying it ends up running around 140 - 150 ppl. But it's indoors and I'm in Socal so we are ALSO required to wear masks-which i'm not thrilled about.

Any way...would love to hear about anyone who just had their wedding during Omicron and things turned out ok.

I just got married on January 16th and I was also worried, but everything turned out just fine. We did have some last minute cancellations, which I expected, but everyone had a blast and surprisingly we did not get any reports of any sickness after the event! We had around 150 guests. I hope you have a wonderful wedding!
