Jars/Bowls for Candy Buffett

Sherell, on August 8, 2014 at 5:00 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 20

Where can i purchase nice jar and bowls for candy buffet. I want then to be inexpensive because I plan on buying 10. Everything I have seen is $20.00 and up. Two Hundred dollors is too much to pay for just the bowls. Thanks!!

By the way-Hobby Lobby-nothing, Dollar store-nothing

I bought mine from Michaels over a period of a few weeks. Michaels almost always has a 40% off one item coupon on their website and they can scan it right on your smartphone. So I just went every few days and bought one jar at a time each for 40% off.

Amazon! I found 72 votive candles with the candle holders for about $30. I know that's more than what you want to spend but depending on how many you need you can probably find a good price

Hobby Lobby should have a ton of apothecary jars....

They also always have a 40% off coupon and their sales alternate weekly so at least once a month you can catch their glass products for 50% off.

I got all my jars from HL, Michaels, AC Moore, TJ Maxx, Marshalls and Home Goods and didn't spend more than $15.00 on a single one.

Walmart has some around $10 and the ones I got from the Dollar Store are not actually meant for food. They are for flowers or potpourri but look just the same. They were in the party aisle.

I've been picking them up here and there. Christmas Tree shop had some funky ones for $5-$10 each. I got a few flattened fish bowls looking jars at A.c. Moore for $3.99. Picked up a few apothecary jars at Marshall's for under $10 each.

I went thrift shopping Smiley smile if you look for coupons, they do half off days and other incentives. I found all I needed in maybe three tips, using the 50% + 25% coupon, and I only spent $40. All glass, all vintage looking, and that $40 included cake stand materials, too.

I bought 15 different glass apothecary jars even the large ones from TJ Maxx, Marshalls and Burlington Coat Factory and spent $135. The most I paid for 1 jar was $19.99 and that was a extra large jar

Glass Vases Depot. They sell them individually and by the case. I got square vases by the case and it came down to only $2 a vase.

I borrowed some of mine from friends and family as well as picked some up at thrift stores. If you have facebook maybe you can find some there too. We have several buy & sell pages where people can list what they are selling or looking to buy. Another place to check is if you have any bridal consignment shops. Good luck!

I am thinking about doing a candy buffet and I have glass dishes from when I did a candy buffet for my daughter's high school graduation but my I am afraid they won't be big enough. So I went to thinking about cheap candy holders. I came up with baskets. I have a ton of them already and what I don't have a friend or family member might. If not they can be bought at the thrift store for pennies. The baskets can be fancied up with material, lace, and flowers. I don't know your theme or how many different candies your having but at the dollar store here they have hat boxes for less than 5 bucks a piece. That might be an option for you too. Good Luck!!!!
