Jeans or no jeans to a wedding?

To each their own, but I personally don't like the look of jeans at a wedding.

I feel the same, but I know a lot of people in my area that have done it and it doesn't look terrible! It's just not something I'd want at my wedding lol. We're from Georgia, so we see jeans at weddings A LOT.

I personally wouldn’t care if someone wore jeans because hopefully you care more about having someone important to you in attendance than being hung up on their appearance. As long as they look respectable and are not wearing something inappropriate (visibly dirty, too much skin, etc) there really is no issue.


The only person I know who would wear jeans to any type of formal event is my father because he is the type who doesn’t put in any effort across the board unless it benefits him in some way. But he’s not on the guest list due to no contact for other reasons so it’s not anything I’m worried about.

View Quoted Comment Agree with this as well. Typically only a venue like the Oscars or similar will have a dress code required for entry. Beyond that, most people trust adults to dress themselves as they have for years, and dress code is considered improper to include on the invite or details card or wherever unless it required by the venue.

Well I think its okay depends on the situation my fiancé and groomsmen are wearing jeans and vests and tie but it’s at a lakehouse so casual

While I've never seen it myself, I can picture people maybe wearing jeans to a super casual backyard style BBQ wedding or a wedding on a farm. But jeans in a ballroom? Hell no! That is so inappropriate. I'm so sorry you have to deal with these people...

I guess the part I missed was how a guest wearing jeans will negatively impact your wedding day (to the point of considering it “disrespectful”).

For fun at our wedding, we’re asking guests to wear a certain color. But if they don’t… NO. Problem. At. All !!! They can certainly wear whatever they like and we won’t be upset by it. Keep in mind that whatever you list is only an attire “suggestion” and not an attire “mandate”. Regardless of what our guests wear, the “show“ will still go on… The officiant will still sign our marriage certificate… FH and I will happily celebrate with everyone… And we will still be husband and wife in the end. 🤷🏽‍♀️ That’s what matters!
