Vodka.. I used to have some great recipes but I am not sure where they are now. Google Jello shot recipes. Basically, you use the boiling water than the jello calls for, and then substitute the cold water for the alcohol. Vodka is best, but rum is good too. Tequila always ends up tasting really strong. A lot of people will tell you to substitute all or almost all the water, but that makes them too strong, and they often don't set right because liquor doesn't boil the same way water does.

I make them every year for my 3rd of July party (so I have some experience in case you can't tell)

So use all water for boiling and use liquor for the "cold water?"

I usually try to use a flavored vodka that complements the jello.. Cherry with cherry, berry with the berry blue, etc.. I also make up some combos, strawberry with regular vodka and a little banana liqueur.. I get creative, but that can get expensive fast!

Haha that's awesome... how are you making the penis shape? do you have a cookie cutter? You could get mini plates (saucer size?) Although it might be kind of awkward to swallow a penis (sorry I couldn't resist!)

If you have a cookie cutter, then just make the jello in a casserole dish (make sure the sides are pretty high) and that the dish is big enough to make it not too thick but not too thin either, then, after they cool and jellotize use the cookie cutter (as close as possible for each shape so you don't waste too much). Then use a spatula to move them to paper plates. Save the rest, when you run out of penis, you can eat the extra! Just put them in a bowl in the fridge or something.

I love Jello shots, my favourite way to make them it to cut an orange in half, scoop out the fruit. Make sure to get all the seeds out, then blend it really fine in a food processor or blender and mix that in with the Jello powder during the hot water phase... then use the scooped out Fruit rinds as the shot glasses. You can do that with any fruit actually, but oranges come with the rind to use as a cup.

Vodka is the way to go, I agree... and agree and also warn against using more Vodka than it says to use cold water... tried that once. It became a runny mess. Still good, but not as fun to eat.

They are little...so i would have to try to find something really little...i wonder how small they make paper plates!

I having about 20 girls there. I would say they are about 1 1/2 in long and 1 inch wide.

Use a little bit (LITTLE BIT) of cooking spray on the ice cube trays or they will never come out. We have always used Karkov when making jello shots, because let's face it we were in college and if we gave anything away it was the cheapest of the cheap, but people always asked for our recipe like they were the best jello shots ever. But yes, hot water is hot water, and cold water is vodka.

WAIT maybe you are right. Is there double the cold water in the recipe than the hot water?
