To all the July brides, has anyone started planning?? I dont know what's too soon or too late...newly engaged and I dont want to start too soon or be too late on things. Do vendors fill up fast for summer weddings??

Planning sooner than later also helps you pay it off a little at a time vs everything hitting at once.

We are 07/20/19 in st. Paul. We have our venue/caterer (both are the same), DJ, florist, photographer, draping. I think a lot of it depends on location. Here venues fill up a year to year and a half out, but the other stuff I have heard fill about about 6-9 months out.. I'm getting my dress in August and bridesmaid dresses September/October. I have asked most of my wedding party but my FH hasn't done any of his yet. I don't think you can start too soon!! Rather be ahead and get good vendors then be behind and have all taken up!

My wedding date is 7/20/19 and I have an unknown budget at this time, my parents haven't really given me a number as to what they are able to help with. We're on a fixed budget right now and I'd love to be able to have everything in the same place, however, I don't think that's a reality at this point. I started planning the weekend we got engaged, simply because I'm a planner when it comes to things. I have my colors, bridal party, dress, and DJ/Officiant. Venue is a whole other story. Good luck to everyone planning! And CONGRATS!!!

I got engaged in December of 2017 I took about three months to enjoy being engaged and let that sink in! Then slowly decided on 2019 to get married because I didn't want to feel rushed in running to the ulter seeing me and my fiance have been together for 7 years before getting engaged. About March we began looking at the price of options and discussed a budget from there we started with venue. Which is mkj farms in deansbro ny . Then from there said we prob should do photographer seeing thoes were the two most important things to us and that we were picky on. Booking thoes first a year and a half out from are date was to insure we got thoes people. Erin convey from Clinton is our photographer. When we booked our venue he had stated that good thing we were putting our deposit down now because he was getting close to being booked for 2019. Our dj we waited on but may put some money down on roscoe red from kiss fm seeing as my fiance went to school with him the only large item left is our food which we will finalize in about a month . Yes it is all very large sums of money but I suggest coming up with your budget get a list of people you really want and start calling about available dates and what they require as deposits to save that date for you then you have about a year to finish saving for the final bill

Hello beautiful people! Our date is July 13th 2019. We started planning soon after he proposed in April. I’d rather be ahead of the game😊 Happy Planning!

I became engaged on April 28th and I already booked my venue, gave my bridal party a gift/asking them to be apart of my day. Picked out the Dj and how the ceremony will go. Already have my wedding dress..and now just taking a little break to pick up extra shifts to help pay for the cost of a wedding but I've got a checklist and have been roughly going off that.

My plan is as follows: Book a venue first!!!
There are tons of bride to be forums that say everything in your wedding should coordinate from your dress to your venue and everything in between. Centerpieces have to match too. And think about it. If your venue has a bright green carpet.. you probably don't want to contrast that benue with burgandy bridesmaids dresses.
Consider everything, but choose your venue first!

Hi Alisha, my wedding date is 7/27/2019. I booked my venue, caterer and bartender back in April... my wedding is in Chicago, and venues fill up FAST for summer weddings. I have meeting with photographers and DJs in the next couple of weeks, hoping to nail those done soon.

I too am getting married on 7/20/19! Not too soon at all! You may want to start looking into venues soon. Where I'm from, venues, photographers, and florists are the first to get booked up. It's always better to be safe than sorry!

I am wanting to book as soon as possible but I haven't found the right venue yet and I want to have that booked before I start focusing on other details. Although I have started looking for catering and dresses and what kind of decor we would want but the venue is priority.

I've been engaged since Dec, 2017. I am having my engagement party in August, alresdy booked my photographer, videographer, and venue. I'm taking my engagement photos in the end og august, September in central park, NYC. I feel like the earlier I book the more time i can pay my services off. Good luck everyone!!!

I’m reading everyone’s comments and starting to feel worried. I got engaged in Feb and figured we wouldn’t get married until 2020 so we would have plenty of time to plan and save. However, I found a dress in New York last week and I knew it was my dress so I got it. Now I’m excited and he is too and we want to try to get married in July 2019 instead. I’ve planned nothing. Am I crazy to think I can get things planned if I start now?? I feel behind the ball now.

From what I am reading you have plenty of time still. I got lucky on the venue (holding ceremony and reception outside at the same place), and doing my own flowers, I am doing a picnic kind of dinner so I'll get everything for that later, but that is all I have done. I'm working on quoting for photographers and djs now.

Definitely not too soon to start looking. Summer dates fill up faster than others. And it depends on the type of venue you’re looking at and it’s popularitg. I’m finding most places still have my date available for next July. I know my brother had to book 16mo out and my sister had a hard time finding a venue after 12mo out.
