July 2020 nj

My wedding is scheduled for July 3, 2020 in New Jersey. With everything going on I think the best decision at this moment would be to postpone. Is it too soon to think about postponing ?

Depends on what your venue states and if you will be able to retain any of your monies from the deposit etc. Mine is July 11, but I’m holding out until the end of April in hope for better news.

My wedding is also scheduled for July 3rd. We decided that around May 1st we'll decide if we have the reception or not. We are still getting married on our date that's for sure but the rest is just uncertain right now. I hope that by then everything is somewhat back to normal but if not I guess I just have to accept it and enjoy my micro wedding... this hurts so so much and I feel stressed and broken but I can't fix any of this so I'm just trying to stay positive. I send my love to you and all the brides going through this

    Hi and welcome!

I'm so sorry you're facing this dilemma.

Here you can find a thread with links to discussions and resources, if you decide to postpone.

As someone also in the NY/NJ area, I can say that right now is probably too soon to make a decision. We are about to get into the thick of it, but we also took steps early to get ahead of the problem. So. If you can hold out just a little longer, things may change.

I moved it to June 25,2021. I was really lucky all my vendors were able to accommodate the change and didn’t give me a hard time. I really wanted to get married this year but my venue only had openings in early August, late November and early December. August was too soon I have 150 guest and a lot of them are older. Even if things were back to normal I was scared people would still be iffy about being in large groups or if anyone got sick because of us. I didn’t want a wedding in the winter and was also scared things might get ugly again in the fall-winter. So next year it is.

I hope everything works out for you!!
