I just did the same thing I’m July 17 this year and looking at either July 16 or 17 of next year heartbreaking in so many ways but I think at this point it’s the safest option.

Hi this is amazing...we have the same wedding day!!! It is my late grandmother's birthday and I want to honor it. I am super nervous about having to move the wedding. I really want to get married on this day. If nothing else I will get married and celebrate later.

I just communication from my venue that they have cancelled all weddings for the year. My wedding date is October 09,2020. I am so upset and numb. I hope it works out for all my fellow brides with weddings this year.

Yes I agree at this point it is better postponing until next year, there is to much stress and anxiety right now. I wanted to wait it out as much as possible but I was afraid that if I wait to much than I will be left without a date for next year.

Wow, my heart is broken for you! That is the most drastic stance I've heard from a venue! I so hope you find a different location ASAP Smiley heart

Exactly! I have the same date and I couldn't imagine already making the decision to wait a whole year more! My heart hurts for all the brides whose venues are forcing them to make such a tough call right now

I am so sorry and I can’t imagine how it feels for the venue to have made that decision for you. We made the decision to postpone but my venue was flexible. Depending on where you are I would try and get deposits back and see if you can’t get married somewhere else on that date

In Washington DC, July 18 wedding. As a nurse, personally working with COVID, I’m still deciding to not postpone yet. I have hope honestly. We’ll get through this together!

July 18th as well. I am waiting, anxious and thankful that I have not received any phone calls yet. My vendors are all understanding and flexible. Ours is a smaller wedding, only about 100-110 people. Trying to stay focused on any smaller details that need to be completed (music, photos & backdrops) and will also insert a handwritten note to each invitation - still have to come up with the wording but I want to express to my guests that their safety is utmost important as is their presence at our wedding whether it comes in July or at a later date for all our safety. We don't even know if the Court will be open in time to obtain a marriage license so.... Everyone stay safe and cross your fingers. Smiley smile

We are in the same boat. Our wedding was supposed to be July 3rd in Utah. Our venue was trying to charge us 100 percent of the balance before postponing. We weren’t happy with the services that they have been providing up to this point. And only offered to refund us not even the full deposit to cancel the end so we are for sure cancelling and seeking legal action.

I've been working on invitations this afternoon and hope my work is not in vain. Our wedding is set for July 25, 2020 and we are hoping and praying we will be able to continue on. We are in North Dakota and are on top of testing and slowing the spread as of now. Not sure our relatives from other states will make it if this continues though...

I’m in Albany NY (“upstate”) and my date is 7/17/20. We are printing our invitations to have them ready, but are anxiously waiting local governments to provide more guidance. At this point, we are being cautious but mildly optimistic. The news/guidelines over the last 24 hours made me more optimistic but my fiancée less optimistic.

We are considering sending out invites with realization that we may have to reduce size afterwards. If the government and venue will let us move forward, we are going to move forward with whatever restrictions they list.

For now, I have all my vendors but haven’t started reaching out. This forum is making me feel like I should! I’m still planning what I can, ordering/prepping decorations, assembling gifts, writing vows, planning programs, etc.

We are July 18 in buffalo NY! I hope cuomo makes a decision soon for us planning. I know it’s to soon to tell but I do hope he looks at NYC compared to the rest of the state and hoping by July they won’t have as many restrictions! Hoping you can get married as planned!!

I have some great wording that I would be happy to share with you! We are also including a note to our guests in their invitation.

I'm also upstate NY with a date of 07.18.20...wedding venue is in Utica & thankfully, it's my FH's venue. All of our vendors were our first choices (friends or people we have connections to). We have family coming from MD, NC, PA, CT, & OH, but the majority of our guest list is local. We have everything planned & already have our invitations. Yesterday I worked on the address labels for them. I'm trying very hard to be optimistic but we have discussed ideas for Plan B (fingers crossed it doesn't come to that). The last state update I watched was Friday & it looked like we may have hit the apex already🙌 Hoping we air on the side of caution & continue with what we're doing through the end of May & then open up from there. But I do feel that upstate's opening has to be vastly different from NYC's opening, given the difference in infection & exposure rates. Hoping for the best for all of us with summer weddings🙏 Stay safe everyone❤
