We’re having our wedding July 17, 2021 after postponing from July 2020. We have just about everything ready to go. We are from philly, but having a destination wedding in Sanibel, Fl —inviting around 75 people, but not expecting that many to show. How are you feeling?? I’m hopeful, but cautious! ...

Yes I feel you! We are all in Philly and are supposed to be traveling to Florida for our wedding. I’m like of course we would decide to have a destination wedding lol. A small ceremony would be beautiful too! It seems like many couples are doing that and are super happy with their day.

Very similar situation! 8/28/21 bride from Philly area. Getting married in OBX. Not too sure how many guests will come, but we are going to go through with it anyway. We've been planning since last winter. Hoping for the best.

    Best of luck!

Hi!! We too were meant to have our celebration on July 25 2020, switched the reception to July 31 2021. Wondering if everyone is working on another backup date?? I feel like doing it now would be admitting defeat, but I fear that makeup dates will be gone if we wait too long. How is feeling on that?

Same situation! Postponed from 7/11/20 to 7/10/21. We are in California and are starting to worry that we’ll either have to make major sacrifices or postpone again. No idea what to do. The misery of postponing the first time was pretty brutal, so I’m dreading having to make the decision again.

We don’t plan to postpone again! If things are really bad when the time comes, we’ll probably just cancel —but that’s just us! I’m hoping that a good portion of our guests feel comfortable enough to come, but I completely understand if they don’t want to. If you are looking to choose a backup date, I would suggest putting a soft hold on one fast god forbid you did have to postpone again!

I hope you won’t have to postpone again! It is really hard. If you and your fiancé feel comfortable to make that backup plan maybe you could think about putting a soft hold on a backup date at your venue. And hopefully you won’t have to use that back up date!
