July wedding in New Jersey

Natty, on March 30, 2021 at 9:57 AM Posted in New Jersey Planning 0 2

Hi there!

Me and my fiancé just got engaged a few weeks ago and already started touring venues. We've absolutely love venues on lakes. We were originally thinking summer 2022 to accommodate for out-of-state teachers in the family (including his older brother). But we can't do June because of a close friend's wedding being that month (we're both in the wedding party too and they will be in ours) so we're left with July or August. We're debating if those months will be too hot or if we should go with September/October instead.

If the venue is ON the lake, will that make the summer months more bearable?

Thanks!

I had a July wedding, and it was fine. We happened to have that awful heatwave the exact day, so we moved the ceremony indoors, but I had a friend who got married the week before and had a beautiful outdoor ceremony. So as long as you have a plan B for an indoor ceremony option, and the reception is indoors, you should be fine with July.

A lake breeze always helps!! 🌅

The average daily highs definitely dip in September (high 70s), but they're only in the high 80s in July & August - so if it's an evening wedding with shade it should be doable!!
