July 3 bride here — we are back and forth on what to do. We don’t think our original plan of 200 guests will be possible, but we are hoping we can have close family and bridal party together by July for a ceremony at least, and then maybe hosting a reception later this fall if our venue allows.

So my wedding is June 20th. I’m debating if I should move it to July. I’m in California and our wedding size is a max of 50 people. I would love to move mine but my husband is joining the Marines and we wouldn’t be able to get married until at least a year from now. And that’s a big maybe because he’s going infantry and we have no idea when he will actually be able to take leave. Having already planned everything out I really don’t want to have to plan for another one especially because we’re already married just haven’t had our ceremony. I’m afraid that if we postpone it we may never get around to it....anyone have any type of advice?

I believe things will open up, but I’m not sure if things are going to be ok. I am having a much smaller wedding (150) in Southern California at the end of September and we have rescheduled to May 2021. 90% have to fly to get here, and I didn’t want them to feel uncomfortable traveling, hugging, shaking hands etc. I’d be devastated if just one person got sick from coming to my wedding. Feels too selfish to expect guests to come during a time of such uncertainty. I highly doubt there will be a vaccine by that time either, so it’s still gonna be out there. Best of luck to you though, hopefully there will be some sort of treatment by your date so all 500 of your guests can be safe and healthy!

There will surely be no vaccine by this summer. Of course it would be unfortunate if a guest were to become ill. However, the facts are that for over 99% of Americans, the symptoms are extremely mild. Many have no symptoms at all. Would you feel equally as devastated if a guest of yours were to get into an accident travelling to your wedding or catch the flu from someone at your wedding next year? Of course we all would, but that doesn't stop us from holding events and living our lives. And it doesn't make us "selfish". We are faced with risk every single day. But the facts are that COVID poses a very mild risk for those without preexisting conditions and the elderly. As long as you are legally able to hold a gathering in your state, I'd say go for it, FWIW! Almost all of our guests would come tomorrow if the stay at home band was lifted! Best of luck to you as you work through rescheduling your big day!

Yes same here! We are still monitoring for our other guests! Thankfully both our guest sizes are lowered! So Hoping for the best that both of our weddings will be everything we've wanted! ❤️

We actually postponed ours today. It was originally for July 17 this summer, but we’ve postponed a full year to the same date in 2021. It’s a destination wedding to Sanibel, Florida— all of my guests including my fiancé and I would be traveling from Philadelphia. Depending on the logistics of your wedding, it still could be okay, but for us it was better to postpone. It sucks, but I do feel a little relieved!

Yes!! Praying hard for both of us and everyone going through this struggle! Hardest part is the unknown, but its completely out of our hands and I think I struggle with that the most! Hoping and praying May and June bring us more clarity on how things will play out in July! Sending lots of love! Smiley heart

Yes postponed my July 10, 2020 destination wedding in the Dominican Republic. New location and date TBD. Going to wait at least a few months to see how things are with coronavirus before starting to even think about a new location and date.

Our wedding is suppose to be on 7/18/20. However we are discussing on postponing our date. We are very skeptical with all that’s going on. We are either moving it until end of this year or beginning of 2021.

Hi Brides!! My original date was April 4th. Moved it to July 11th. But, I'm not sure if July will be good either. I'm in Chicago. Approximately 220 guests. I don't know what to do! 😢

My wedding is supposed July 10, 2020 in Illinois. Illinois just extended the stay at home order until May 30th, so really on the fence on what to do. Any other Illinois brides out there?

Houston, Tx Bride here🙋🏼‍♀️🙋🏼‍♀️. What part of Texas are you at? Mine was originally March 22nd and changed to July 18th🤞🏼. With how the Harris County area is going I’m staying hopefully and won’t make a decision until the 2nd weekend of June. Obviously if we’re able to have this 150 guest wedding they can wear a mask if they feel comfortable.

Our venue said ours is still on so we’re holding onto our date even if we have to reduce our guests due to social distancing and crowd gathering restrictions.

Similar boat! Mine was March 22nd and moved it to July 18th! I don’t know how Chicago is, but I’m staying hopeful because of the County I’m in which is Harris County and it’s hot and humid and it’s not crazy bad! I’m waiting to see what to do on the second weekend of June. Best wishes to you!

Similar boat! March 22nd to July 18th! I don’t know how Chicago is doing, but in Houston, tx are slowly starting to open things up next week, so I’m staying hopeful🤞🏼. Our area is also hot and humid around this time. I would give it the first or second weekend of June to figure things out for you! Best of luck 🤞🏼❤️

July 12th bride here! We’re in the piedmont of North Carolina. Our “Phase 1” (still only gatherings of 10), begins May 9 as of now. At the moment we’re still planning on going through with our original plans. We’ve invited 165ish people, with about half being from out of state. We’ve come to terms with the possibility of having to make changes, however we aren’t planning on reevaluating until the end of May. It just seems to early to tell. However, we won’t be postponing or rescheduling. If we end up having to reduce the number of people to 50 or even to immediate family only, we will be sad but okay. And we figure for us the worst case scenario is the courthouse. And even then, at the end of the day, we will be married, and that’s what really counts!

Albany NY 7-17-20 bride here. There’s also a good forum called July 2020 weddings.

We have a plan B date for 12/17/20, but it’s a Thursday so we really don’t want to do that. We are thinking we won’t be able to have the 120 that we expected, but we were having that size because it was the minimum required. Hoping the venue works with us if we have to do something smaller in July.
Waiting on invites until lat May early June, with rsvp now by 6/29 (latest our hotel block would go). We did save the dates so we aren’t too worried about people not knowing. We also added a blurb to our wedding site.
Is anyone doing virtual pre-wedding festivities like bachelorette or bridal shower
