Jumping The Broom

Is anyone jumping the broom? I’ve always wanted to do it, not for any religious or historical reasons. I just think it’s cute. I’ve gotten a lot of negative feed back from friends saying I’m being over the top. Lol. Maybe I am. This will be my 2nd marriage but my 1st wedding, so I’m overly excited...

Just curious if anyone else is doing it.

How so? She only gave her husbands religion not hers. As long as she is doing it because she believes in the idea of it it’s not.

If I'm not from NOLA then I guess I'm not from anywhere. I guess I don't get to have any culture!

Gotta love my NOLA brides! I'm not from New Orleans but lived there a long time and it has my heart, so we're doing a second line at our New Orleans wedding. So looking forward to it, and I love what it signifies as well. Same with jumping the broom. I'm black and FH is white, which gave me some reservations about doing it, but I think it's a significant gesture. I'll be decorating our broom myself (unless I give up and buy one, I'm so not crafty, haha).
