June 2021 wedding - postpone?

Sarah, on September 14, 2020 at 7:35 PM Posted in Planning 0 6
Hi y’all. Are you having June 2021 weddings? We booked in March/April before we really knew the severity of all of this. A lot of our guests will need to travel from out of state to attend. We’re feeling so conflicted on what to do. I know we should wait a few more months, but it’s so tricky.

Are you wanting to postpone it even further out than June?

It is scheduled in June already, so yes, we would postpone it to 2022 once our venue opens up those dates.

Depends on a lot of factors. Your venue restrictions (closely related to state restrictions), guest count and whether your VIPs would be able to attend. Contact your venue and see what their current outlook and restrictions are. I would make a list of your must haves to continue your wedding vs. postpone and come up with a back up plan and wait a few more months.

Definitely wait until at least the beginning of the year. My big wedding is in March and I won’t make a decision until the end of January.

Let’s hope it’ll be better by then. Obviously it’ll be some restrictions still but let’s hope not much.

I guess it depends on how many guests you have invited and how many will have RSVPed. Many venues (depending on the state) are so limited! We just got married in N.C. where the indoor limit is 10 and outdoor 25... but hopefully it’ll change by then!

I think it depends on the amount of guests and the restrictions in your area. We are also planning on getting married June of 2021 and have already made the decision that even if we have to shrink the guest list we will not change the date unless everything shuts down again. Luckily for us everything is planned for outside so as long as there is not a flair up everything that is allowed should still be a go. Good luck deciding what you're going to do!
