I need advice with brides who have the same date or near the same date ! Has anyone postponed or cancelled their wedding date yet!? I don’t know if I should wait till May 15th to postpone my wedding or if I should just do it now ): anyone on the same boat as me?

My wedding is scheduled for May 30th. Every May bride I know has postponed but I can't make myself do it prematurely, because things are really changing so fast. I'd say to reach out to your guests letting them know you're still having it as planned, and that you'll let them know of any changes. I'd say about 4 weeks out from your wedding is an okay time to decide to postpone or keep going, due to these circumstances. That's what we're doing! Sorry you're going through this! It really sucks but we're in this together!

Hey wedding date twin. I haven't postponed yet my venue and I will discuss our options in May. I live in New York and my wedding will be here and it's not looking promising in my state. Om really yorm, o don't want to wait to get married any longer but out court houses are closed and I can't even file so I'm at the mercy of the governor and the mayor and have to let it play out.

Yes I’m just trying to think positive. Everyone keeps telling me to postpone but my gut keeps telling me no. It’s nice to have a community of brides on here to feel the same way I do! But yes I agree 4 weeks should be perfect. Fingers crossed!

Hey ! Yes it’s not looking to good here in California either. We’re having a wedding of 300 guest and we’ve been looking forward to our big day and I don’t see myself canceling or postponing till next year. But yes I agree May will be a good time to tell. Let’s think positive here! 💗

My wedding is scheduled for June 27th in N.C. We are waiting until mid-May as well to make that call. However this virus plays out we are still getting married on the 27th. We have a plan b in place already if we are unable to hosts 250 guests. Thankfully our reception venue and other vendors are working with us in the event the big celebration has to be moved. The only thing I really know for sure is I’m going to marry the man that I love on the 27th. It just maybe on much smaller scale. If that happens, we will plan a big celebration for later and yes I will wear my wedding dress again. Lol

Hi Ruby! This is definitely a crazy stressful and uncertain time for everyone! I totally understand the desire to wait longer and see how things develop! The only downside to waiting are that fall 2020 and ideal 2021 wedding dates are going fast as so many couples reschedule their plans. You also want to give your guests enough time to make or change their plans.

Have you reached out to your venue to ask about their thoughts and potential next steps? They might have more information, guidance, or a deadline for postponement decisions.

You also aren't alone right now! ❤️ There are a ton of June brides also talking about their Covid19 concerns in these discussions:

Our wedding is also June 20th. We postponed the last week of March just to get ahead of it all. We wanted to make sure all our vendors were still available for the new date since the stay at home order here is until May 20 a lot of other couples are going to be rescheduling as well. We postponed to October and all our vendors were available that date. We have plan B and C and will probably still get married on our original date.
