June 27, 2020 brides?

We're in August 7th now; we were June 27th (I started this thread). I think we're going to do a private ceremony. Even if things are open - unemployment is crazy, flights are needed for family (even with the wedding in the US), money is tight, the risk of a rebound infection, right now the state we have everything planned in won't even rent hotel rooms or airbnb's to people from out of state, etc. I really think we'll just go private - just us and our sons. And we'll call it a day. Maybe do a renewal when we buy a new house or something like that - so we can combine milestones. Not sure yet. But we are getting married - just, it's looking like - without an audience. Which sucks. But not as much as not being married for longer. I've had a pretty long engagement - going on 2 years. And we've had a date in April, one in June... and now August. I don't think we or our guests are up for more. Many guests and family are telling us how special elopements and such can be...

We made the tough decision to postpone until next June. My heart hurts but I know it’s the right decision. 😢❤️

FH and I are deciding on having a ceremony in his grandparents backyard (where we were supposed to have our reception) just us and intermediate family, then possibly having the reception when it’s safe to do so. Then when our 1 year anniversary comes we can renew our vows and have the wedding we couldn’t have this year, we are still discussing and will probably have a conclusion by next week 😕 I wish nothing but the best for all of you ladies, your partners and family💕

We postponed our wedding for June 2021, originally June 27, 2020. It really hurts a lot but we wanted to look out for the health and safety of everyone. Now it's just a matter of hopefully rescheduling all the same vendors.

One thing my fiance said that helped me better cope with the decision is "Even though we want to get married asap, I don't mind waiting because my feelings won't change in a couple months or a year." Helped reassure me that we can postpone, and also gave me another reason why I love that man 🥰❤😍

Hi! I’m new to the thread, but about to officially host a small ceremony and reception at our home and cancel the original plans for June 27. We don’t want to have a wedding for the sake of having a wedding next summer or on another date. My finances only stipulation is we continue to get married on the original day ❤️

We're doing a fancy elopement in our state in September. I'm wearing my dress, the kids and FH will be in tuxes, we'll have a photographer, and then we're going to dinner someplace divine. So a micro-wedding. We're thinking of sending our mothers flowers in our wedding colors with a card that has livestreaming or photos for them to view... That way they know it's real.

We'll figure out the event with guests - whenever. We've basically just kind of put that aside.

View Quoted Comment Thank you Laura. I’m sure as all of us we had our hearts set on being a June bride. We have an August date but our church is not available. All other vendors are. Hoping we can work with the church to make it work. My Beloved grandmother Passed last year and myself and the whole family were looking forward to this wedding as something to look forward to. As all of us here, showers were canceled and my groom’s bachelor party (going to a baseball game) canceled. I’m typically an optimistic person, but this curveball is disappointing for sure. This forum with all of you has brought me comfort as you are all great! I feel less alone 🌹

View Quoted Comment Next year will be nice because this whole thing will be behind us. We have a backup date of Aug 14th and still stressful. I’m 35 so my clock is ticking but if I was younger I would totally move mine to next year. You will be a beautiful June bride!!
