June 27, 2020 Covid-19 Decision

Hello all!

If you’re getting married on June 27, 2020 or another June 2020 date have you made a decision yet about postponing? I am so torn and I would love to chat with other brides with a similar date about what you’re thinking!

I’m June 7th. I can’t cancel with out losing my 50% deposit. The only way I will get any financial relief is if the venue cancels. So I’m sticking to my guns until then. Trust me I feel terribly guilty about health issues, spreading and all of that. I will understand if people cancel but this is way out of any of our controls. I’m praying all will be right by May so we can get back into normalcy. Praying for you!

I coordinate weddings at a local parish and a bride recently called in tears because her reception venue cancelled on them (they were supposed to get married on June 27). My fiancé and I were supposed to get married on June 7, but we’re in the process of postponing to (hopefully!!!) later in the summer before I start teaching again. The June 27 couple moved their wedding to September 5, and another couple moved their May wedding to October. From what I’m hearing, June is the trickiest month since there’s speculation that this thing will peak in May. I heard advice that June couples should plan to make a decision by April 1 as far as whether or not they want to postpone. Best wishes to you and your fiancé!

Hi Caroline! This is definitely a crazy stressful and uncertain time for everyone!

I've heard a lot of June brides are waiting a few weeks and monitoring their local situation, but others have felt more personal peace enacting plan b already!

Here are a few active discussions I've seen with other June couples sharing their concerns:

    Hi Caroline!

We're in the same boat as you guys- we're supposed to get married two weeks before you. We are also feeling torn (and heartbroken, and sick, etc!) about what to do. While I think that it is too early to make a call (a lot can change either for the better or worse in the next couple weeks!), my mom and I have started to reach out to our vendors to schedule a back-up plan for October. It's especially tricky for us since my fiance is in medical school, and June is pretty much the only month he has free. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for all of us June brides, but I'd say you might feel better if you have a back-up plan in place!
