June brides: should we panic?

on March 14, 2020 at 7:38 PM Posted in Planning 0 13
6/6/2020 wedding. Just wondering what everyone’s take is on our June weddings and the coronavirus. Do you think we will be able to get married or what? Lol asking for a friend!

Deep breaths girl! It's a little too soon for a full on panic, but I would definitely talk with your vendors and see what their plan b options are and the latest day you have to postpone. It also helps to have a list of things you feel you have to have for the wedding to be worth it, like family members that you need and vendors. It's not an easy decision, and we have no idea what's going to happen. I'm so sorry you're going through this. Good luck and good vibes your way.

My wedding is May 8. Reached out to my coordinator and she said as of now vendors are not canceling.
I’m sure it depends on your location. I would say it’s too soon to tell. In 2 weeks things can be different.
I’m trying to stay positive and will reach out to vendors in a couple weeks. I’m worried sick about it but I do not want to cancel or postpone.

Yeah I’m trying to remain optimistic too! Just sucks, the possibility of changing/cancelling things you have been planning for years. But I like your plan to reach out in a couple weeks. Thanks for the advice! Fingers crossed for us both 🤞🏻

Aw thank you for the kind words! I guess it is too early to jump off the deep end! But yes agreed, these are the things we should be looking at!

We just went through postponing, and it was quite the ordeal. But we realized that it wouldn't be the day that we had planned, so we decided to postpone. The most important part was family, which we hope to have in August.

Also getting married on 6/6/2020!! As of now, we have no plans to postpone. Our RSVP’s are due May 3 and we’ll reassess around that time. A lot can change in 3 months so I’m trying to stay optimistic!! Although I have talked with my vendors just in case—they all seem to be understanding if we decide to postpone. I think there’s just too many unknowns right now to make a final decision I know it’s hard!!

I think it’s important to take it one day at a time and not get ahead of yourself. Deep breaths.

Date twin! I don’t think there’s a need to panic. I think and certainly hope that things will be calmed down by then. I have faith that everything will work out. Canceling or postponing has not even been on my mind. I know it’s easier said than done to say “don’t worry about it right now” but I think you’ve still got time. Take a deep breath! 🙂

That's our date too, I told him we're getting married no matter what on that day, with or without guest. Our officiant is a friend and our moms and kids will be there and that's all that matters. Trying not to stress

    Hey!
    I'm also a June 6th Bride.
No, we should not panic. The measures that people are taking now, working from home, cancelling school and social events will help to contain it.
Most nurses and Drs are saying 2-3 weeks with health guidelines in place and followed will make a huge difference.
My wedding is going forward, as planned , so is our Honeymoon to Saint Lucia.
It's a virus and like all viruses, it will run its course and taper off. Take lots of vitamin C and D, as well as zinc to boost your immune system.
If you have guests with compromised immune systems or preexisting conditions, they may choose to stay at home because they are most at risk.
Our wedding will have less than 60 guests. From what I've been told, gatherings of 100 or more, should be cancelled for the next 21 days.
I have faith that, this too will pass. Try not to worry!❤

I'm not concerned since we're literally the very last weekend of June (June 28th). lol. I don't get ahead of myself and can't imagine it going that long. It's really far out from now, at least my date

Fellow June bride! I have to be honest, I have paniced last week since I'm German and we are planning to get married in the US. Even though I already have a fiancé visa I currently am not allowed to travel to the US, which means that, if the travel ban gets extended in April, I will have a huge problem. But we decided now that it makes no sense to decide anything so far, since we have no idea how the situation might develop. We will wait until at least the end of April before making any decision about postponing the wedding.

June 27 here!! We are not worried yet but we know this might mean a smaller guest count. It's disappointing to know some people won't be able to make it but it wouldn't be a large enough percentage to cancel or postpone. I'm also keeping my eye on Italy as they are basically 2 weeks ahead of us with this virus.
