Dedicated September 2021

Just a bit of venting(idk I'm upset)

Melissa, on March 12, 2021 at 5:10 AM Posted in Family and Relationships 0 9
My grandfather is one of my favorite people. I'm closer to him than my own father. He has dementia and various other health issues. In December of 2018 they said it had 6 months to a year. I'm so grateful we got this extra time with him. We thought he would make it to the wedding. Besides his dementia he was overall well. He had a very sudden turn. Within less than a week he went from the hospital to hospice. I was with him all day and evening and I'm back at the hotel. (We don't live in the same city so we drove and got a hotel). My heart is broken over this. He was so excited to be there with me. He couldn't remember a lot, but remembered I was getting married. I'll do some sort of memorial at the wedding for him as well as my grandmother(his late wife).
Hug your loved ones. There is never enough time. I am so grateful I got to have these 28 years.

Deepest prayers to you and your family. I know its hard to not have loved ones at your wedding with you, but he’ll be there in spirit And he will be watching you walk down the aisle with his wife. Have you thought about what kind of memorial type thing you wanna have for them?

I'm so sorry you are going through this. My fiancés grandfather lives in Texas and is so excited to be at our wedding and see us get married. However he has cancer and goes for treatment 2 times a week. He told me on the phone that he won't give up fighting until he sees us get married, he said it's his only bucket list wish. We are praying he can go to treatment once a month before our wedding so he can be there. But his health has gotten worse. His health is up and down and I'm praying that he becomes well enough for the wedding in August. It's never an easy road.

I sorry to hear that. It is tough but remember the bond and the love that you have for him and the love he has for you. My prayers are with you and your family. I feel the same way about my grandfather is turning 99 this year and the bond we have can never be broken. I also know how it feel not to have loves one to see you get married. I talk about my grandmother and wish she was still here with me. We are doing a remembrance table for our love ones that are not with us and their spirit will be with us too. Everything will be okay. I wish you and your family well and know that he will always be in your hearts.
