Just beer and wine?

Sarah, on July 15, 2022 at 9:55 PM Posted in Planning 4 10
So we were going to have one signature cocktail but it’s just SO EXPENSIVE… we’ve already spent close to 25,000 on this wedding and alcohol is the last big expense we need! Would just beer and wine be ok ? I don’t know why I feel guilty for not having a signature cocktail 😩

Beer and wine is totally fine! Don’t feel bad at all. It’s hard with a signature drink because it’s hard to find a drink everyone would like. So you run into that problem. I’m sure your guest will be happy to have something to drink. Trust me.

I think beer and wine is already plenty on top of the other drink options you have.

Maybe let your guests know on your wedding website or by word of mouth that it will be beer and wine only, that way if someone wants to sneak in a flask of alcohol they can hahah

That’s exactly what we are doing. Providing beer and wine (along with flavored water, lemonade, tea, etc). No signature cocktail. If guests would like to purchase a drink with hard alcohol, they can but that’s on them.

Beer and wine are fabulous! I agree with Jacks - great hosting! A great majority of guests select these options when you have an open bar anyways. Another plus is the bar line moves much quicker as beer/wine are faster to serve than making cocktails.

For what it’s worth, I have been a guest at many weddings over the years and I couldn’t tell you which had signature drinks or not. I’m a happy guest with enough food and refreshing beverages (alcoholic or not). Good luck to you!! ❤️🥂💐

Beer and wine only is a super common option! We were planning to do beer, wine, and a signature drink, but we'd have to pay to upgrade to a full bar PLUS extra for the signature drinks. It just wasn't worth it to us.

Just beer and wine is more than okay! Guests don't need liquor. And typically, any wedding I've been to that served liquor, the guests got out of control. Guests aren't paying for their drinks and will be happy with whatever you provide Smiley smile .
