Am I crazy to think that the Goodwill is EXPENSIVE??? Seriously, I've tried! Oh how I have tried! Trying to find things like cake platters and vases and little tea light holders. When I went to the Goodwill this past weekend, the tealight vases were $1-2! Cake platters $15 . Mini frames for $4 ....

Mini frames for $4 . These aren't used Lenox. They may as well be from the dollar store. Have you ladies seriously found deals at thrift stores? I'm having much better luck on Ebay and at Ross/Tj Maxx and Marshalls. I've already gotten 2 cake platters and my short vases from there and the tall vases on Ebay. People reselling their stuff on Craigslist also seem crazy. Why would I buy your used glass vase for $25 when I can find it new for $15!

Are Seattle thrift stores just super expensive because of Macklemore or does anyone else have this problem???

They ARE tooooo expensive! Goodwill I mean!!! I tried in VAIN, looking for random CLEAR "cheap to begin with" platters, cake plates etc...

Wtf OVER?! I even complained, bc the EXACT same reversible cake plate/punch bowl combo(reverse the pieces and use as stand, or lunch bowl), was the REGULAR price of $15 at Walmart. The same set I foun at goodwill thinking, ohhhh I can have a set!!! Ohhhh hell to the naw! They had it for $25!!! "It's Anchor Hocking brand"....hoe please, Big lots carries anchor!!! Brand new for LESS!!!!!

Found a gorgeous dress on that "preowned" site? Girl asking $300 when the tag quite PLAINLY says "sale $199" on the tag SHE uploaded a photo of, and wants $50 for shipping to boot. I'm not paying you more than you paid, bc you went over budget on the new one. Sorry dah-ling, no thanks!!!

On a FB page, a friend tagged me in a post thinking she found a great deal. 23 vases for $50...not bad, til I realized it was 8 of the tall cylinder vases from dollar tree, and the super skinny cylinder vases that are .97 at Walmart. You want $50, for $23 worth of USED glass? Half were dirty on top of that.

B!tches be trippin.....lmffao at the Macklemore comment. Fh just HATES that song, but I totally get it, hahaha!!!!!

@Stephanie A. It's not saying the stuff IS garbage. It's just saying that not only is it DONATED, but it's stuff that would have been thrown away if not donated. As in, 1 mans trash is another mans treasure? It's just that they charge SO high a price, for something that was given to them. It'd be different if they had to pay a person for items. And they don't.

Btw, I found a DKNY pant suit for $30 once, still had the $158 tag on it :-) caught it on their half off day(normally wa $60)...so I hear ya on being able to find the label steals sometimes!!! And I'm a big girl, so larger DKNY sizes are CRAZY hard to find!!!

I think they're stupid expensive for a thrift store. They even pick out the expensive donations and sell them online. Stick to yard sales, Craigslist and mom and pop thrift stores Smiley smile our town dump has a swap shed. You'd be amazed what turns up there!

I have no legit feedback now because of your Macklemore reference.

Goodwill always seems expensive to me. If you're anywhere in NJ, you might be near a Value Village, and they ROCK! I was there on Thursday (it's a 25% off day) and I got three Chico's linen shirts, a pair of Chico's pants, an ostrich wallet, a giant canvas totebag, 50 sage green invite envelopes and a book from the Museum of Modern Art...for 39.00.

They always have candle holders, plates, lots of books and lace and all kinds of seasonal stuff. I totally love it!

I agree. I hate goodwill, super unorganized and expensive. I do, however, love savers! It's also value village in some other places, so if you have one around you I would check that out. Smiley smile
