Just got engaged! 😊

Ruth, on February 7, 2021 at 9:56 PM Posted in Planning 0 14
So I just got engaged on 1/29/2021, my fiancĂ© and I have chose a date for the wedding (November 11, 2022). We are having a destination wedding in Dominican Republic. I’m not sure if I should just take a moment to relax or start planning. I would love to read some guidance in this area.

Definitely start now that date will creep up fast! Plus some dresses take months to come in. Congratulations!

I agree! Definitely take some time to let it all soak in but I’d start planning as soon as you can. Also, given that it’s a destination wedding I’d start early with some tasks. Congrats 💞

I would start planning now and try to get a venue and budget in place as soon as possibleS I’m sure that will be a VERY popular date and as so many 2020/2021 weddings have been postponed. 2022 dates have been going swiftly.

    Congratulations!!

My view is that there is no such thing as planning too early, particularly if you have a certain vendor in mind. With destination weddings especially I am a big advocate for planning in advance mainly because your guests will incur a significant expense in attending so the more notice you can give them (with Save the Dates) the better – it will give them more time to save up.

Congrats on your engagement Ruth!! And welcome to WeddingWire! đŸ’â€ïž

You can definitely take some time to just enjoy your engagement, but it's also never too early to lock down your venue!
