Just how important are invitations to you?

I still haven't really decided on the "look" yet, but am driving myself a bit nuts over the perfect look...while knowing that no one will be as impressed with them as I am.

Are invites a big deal for you or was it an easy decision?

I cared quite a bit about our invitations. I wanted to set the appropriate tone for the wedding and for them to be aesthetically pleasing. I'm IN LOVE with raised foil so that was an important factor for me. I originally wanted clear, frosted ones but I knew people would have difficulty reading them. The ones we went with are the ones my fiance picked and liked. I had been going crazy about the designs for weeks, I asked him to help, he chose one, and I liked it the best lol. They turned out really pretty, we just sent them out, and everyone is complimenting how "fancy" and "beautiful" they are. I know they have a short shelf life but I still wanted them to get the job done. I only found ONE website that I loved their editing, paper, and pricing. Basicinvite.com handled my Save the Dates and invitations and I have no regrets. We did use Zazzle invitations for my bridal shower though.

I went all out for our stationery. Deckled-edge, letterpress invitations with a custom ink color, lined envelopes, vintage stamps and wax seals. I have always loved fine paper goods so this was incredibly fun for me and my budget allowed for it. It really does set the tone for your whole wedding. People will say that no one remembers your invitations, but I still have people telling me almost 2 years later that mine were the most beautiful invitations they've ever gotten! It all depends on what is important to you though!

Invitations were quite important to us because they set the tone for the rest of the wedding. We had a very formal wedding so we wanted invitations to match the formality! We did end up spending close to $1000 on our invitations but they came out beautifully and they did just that--they set the tone for our event

Not a big deal at all. We wanted a watercolor greenery design on matte paper, and there were plenty of available options to choose from on Zazzle, Minted, etc.

TBH when I receive an invitation I am very rarely thinking about the quality of it, and it either goes in the mail pile or on the side of the fridge. I personally don’t think it is worth paying a ton of money for. You can still get a “formal” design but for inexpensive! I just ordered mine from Zazzle.com since it was 50% off. Save the money and put it towards something else! The only downfall of Zazzle is they don’t offer guest addressing but I am going to get a template off Etsy and print the addresses into the envelopes myself.

Thanks! We ordered our entire invitation suite including the pockets from Basic Invite, but if you Google “A7 pocket invitation” you can find them in a range of colors everywhere from Amazon to Etsy.

I agree I as a guest don't look at the invitation and think of how pretty it is. I just look to see where to be and what time then it gets tossed. That's why I didn't put to much thought into ours. Ours where pretty inexpensive and the first one I saw we took.

We wanted a winter design, so it was a bit harder to find something in the usual webshops. Also, we needed four different versions in four different languages... In the end, we purchased a really pretty design from Etsy, edited the text ourselves and had a local printshop print the STDs. Will do the same for invitations. I really like how they look and feel, and while cost wasn't really an issue, they turned ouch much cheaper than expected!

Very important! I wanted something to fit our celestial vibe and was a little more than just an invitation. Here is our planisphere invitation.

Invites are a big deal to me.

Our wedding invitations, while very simple and minimalist, were very elegant - they were single panel black cards with silver engraving.

Our vow renewal invitations are going to be something cool - I haven't decided exactly what yet. We have a few different styles going on throughout the event, so I have a few things I can work with (space science for the ceremony, chemistry for the cocktail hour, fossils for the reception).

My invitations helped me pick my color scheme, mood, and even flower-choice for my formal wedding. I'm fine with being inspired by others' artistry because I am not a creator. You can order free paper samples for feel. I'm really happy with my choice and invites were my one selection for our wedding (opinionated partner). I went red-pink ombre, romantic mood, modern tone with envelopes decorated on outside, inner-lining, and adhesive-wax seals that read "Let's Party". Do what makes you happy! There are many recurring sales all year to help. Pic is a sample from Minted.com.

Went easy peasy with Zola invites. They were fine and people started hitting up my phone when they got them. Makes me wonder now if I should have just gone paperless.. but it’s nice to get the replies back with notes on them from people!

I would love a pretty 5 part invitation..floral with beautiful calligraphy..However I can appreciate it, I know that is a waste of money. So we’ve picked something elegant and simple..
