We know we want a beach wedding, it's always been my dream wedding setting and my fiance is in agreement on that. We (and our combined 4 kids and my friends) live in AK, my parents live in Boston, and his family and best friend/likely groomsmen lives in the UK. No matter what, a DW is happening....

We know we want a beach wedding, it's always been my dream wedding setting and my fiance is in agreement on that. We (and our combined 4 kids and my friends) live in AK, my parents live in Boston, and his family and best friend/likely groomsmen lives in the UK. No matter what, a DW is happening. We've narrowed it down to FL or HI.

Now the dillema of WHERE. We want future FIL's to come, however they didn't come to my FH's first marriage in AK, so who knows if they'd come over stateside no matter where it is. FL is closer to both sets of parents, but HI is closer to us/tbh my dream destination/FH doesn't really care where, and only threw FL down as sa suggestion since it's closer to parents. My parents are willing to travel wherever we go, but my FH hasn't had this discussion with his parents and we are tentively set to get married Feb 2022-the people in my life need the STD/time to plan if they are coming. We need to start booking venues, day of coordinators potentially, etc. and a year will be here before we know it. I'm just so stressed out--I want to REALLY start planning vs getting estimates and falling in love with venues in two separate places.

I'd be a liar if I said I haven't thought about booking a venue and saying that's where we're having it Smiley xd I've fallen in love with a venue in each place, within our budget, and not knowing which one is mine for the night is torture!

Are you close enough to his family that you message his parents to try to feel them out since it doesn't seem like he is going to?

Sadly, no. We've talked on the phone in passing but I don't know their phone number or have a social media account to go through to reach them.

I'm trying to gauge a feel of their recent travels to sort of see if there seems to be a pattern in how far they'll go Smiley xd

We plan it on our 25th elopement anniversary, the 1st August 2022. I still comparing everything to push down the total, but I want quality at the same time 😂

I just wanted to give an update:

I told FH I REALLY needed a location to start planning as at least my guests will need to prepare if they want to come (and I have a feeling an influx of 2020/2021 canceled weddings will happen in 2022!). He said he'd prefer FL and not to worry about his parents coming or not. While HI is my dream, I know FL is just as magical and will be an amazing time-FL it is!
