For reals, we're planning on sending a few to celebrities like Steve Buscemi, Rebecca Sugar, Kevin Conroy, GRRM, and Sir Patrick Stewart. We'll do more if we have extra invites!

OP when did you send yours? We sent ours about 2 months ago and haven't gotten anything in response. You have me excited. We also sent one to FH's fraternity's national president, it was his suggestion after he saw the one I addressed to President Obama, he thinks he may actually come since he's from our wedding city. Even if he doesn't he hopes he sends something in response.

@PumpkinBeer - Sorry, he IS your president whether you like it or not. That doesn't mean you voted for him or have to like him, but he is president of the country you reside in, therefore he is your president.

@FFW haven't sent them out yet but from pp's indications it looks like it will definitely take a few weeks minimum to hear back. I'm so excited. I think we may invite Ellen too

We sent a bunch out to different people: the President and the First Lady, the Pope, Mickey and Minnie, Cinderella and Prince Charming, also the following: Chris Meloni, Ellen, Mark Harmon, Prince Royce, Nathan Fillion.. I think that was it?

We only received a reply from Mickey and Minnie (a post card) and the same letter from the President and First Lady that was already posted. I can't remember how long it took though...

Sending one to both former President Bush's. FH was Security Forces in the AF & actually provided security details for both of them (as well as Clinton). I'm doing it as a surprise for him & will give him the responses at our RD.

We got the letter from the President as well as the postcard from Mickey and Minnie. The invite I sent to Cinderella and PC was returned as undeliverable.

Is that what our tax money is paying for? :p

Steve Buscemi? How freaking awesome would it be to have him show up at your wedding? I'm sending one to David Gilmore and Neil Peart. This is a really neat idea and one that I had totally didn't even think of!

I knew you could send an invite to the characters from Disney, but I didn't think about other celebrities. That's an awesome idea and I love that they actually send things back!!

Oh. I would love to invite Tom Hanks...and I wonder where I can send an invite to Obama after his presidency since he'll be out before my wedding. Hm.
