It's our final tradition! How do you feel about the cake smash? Is it a cute and fun memorable wedding moment? Or would you be super pissed if your new spouse smashed cake in your face? 🍰 What's your vote on the cake smash? Keep or cancel? Photo by Naomi Wong Photography in Kapaa, HI Thanks for...

"As far back as ancient Rome, the bride could expect to conclude the festivities by having a barley cake smashed upside her head. This dubious tradition was done to symbolize male dominance and encourage fertility, according to Renée Strauss, wedding expert and founder of WEDAWAYS.Apr 25, 2017"

Even though this is how the tradition came about we will be doing it still in a loving way we agree no cake in our eyes, hair or on my dress

Cancel! Makeup job is too expensive to do that to my face! He can feed me it but I would be livid if it was smeared all over my face

Keep it! Just don't get too crazy! I spent a lot of money for this face day of, getting it ruined is not what I really want!

Cancel. I don’t like this at all. I really don’t want sugar on my face for the rest of the wedding when you pay for makeup & hair to be done.

Cancel! This is wasteful and unnecessary. We are foregoing cake, altogether, in favor of a gelato bar.

Keep. We don't care about some dress, some believe its disrespectful, but we will have full on food fights at home, it would be a lie to say that the mess would bother us. I love my man, and I will never give up having fun with him. The cake smash is just a way of showing that fun-loving side. We won't full on JAM cake into one another's faces, that is just way to aggressive, but a little smush, playful, sweet. We definitely will be keeping it for ours. Smiley smile

Cancel! I already told my FH that I do not want him to do this! We always do a cute little kiss with our baked goods when we have them together now, so that's what we'll be doing instead!

That is rhe ultimate sign of disrespect.

If anyone does that, there may be some hidden resentment.

Cancelling this one. I wouldn't be super pissed but i've already told him i do NOT want this happening. I'm not going over board with my make up but i'm already going to have enough issues keeping it on with all the happy crying i'm sure to do. I don't need to wipe it all off as he smears the cake in my eyes lol

Cancel. We won't be having a traditional wedding cake because I despise cake. Instead, we will be having cheesecake and that stuff is too delicious to waste on smashing.

I'd be super pissed. There will be no cake smashing in the face. Cake is for eating and not smashing in our faces getting us dirty.

CANCEL! Why pay all that money to have your makeup done only to have to wipe it all off because of cake? No thanks.
