Keep or Cancel: Garter Toss?

Lynnie, on July 16, 2019 at 11:05 AM

I have to confess that I've never actually seen a garter toss in person! But apparently 37% of grooms still participate in this reception tradition! Will this toss tradition make the cut for your wedding? Do you want to keep or cancel this toss tradition? Photo from Red Gate Farms in Savannah, GA...

Keep. I love all the tradition and so does FH so we went with a very traditional wedding. Including this

Still unsure about this one, I was leaning toward cancel, but with the dress I have, I think this could be fun, but I don't know; on the fence about it.

CANCEL!! I think this is super creepy and gross. No one needs to be climbing underneath my dress and taking things off of me, especially with their mouth, ESPECIALLY in front of family, friends and children. Big no for us.

Keep- I think it goes hand-in-hand with the bouquet toss... and it usually brings some fun, even if it's at the expense of my own embarrassment.

Cancel... I'm really uncomfortable with this one, but trying to find a fun alternative!

Cancel. Ew. Having him go up my skirt in front of my family so single male guests can be made uncomfortable by catching something I probably sweated in. No thanks.

Cancel. My fiance doesn't want it and the only single guys who will be our wedding are in their teens!

Pass, no thank you! I’m just uncomfortable with someone touching something that touched my body. My fiancé, sure, but our friends, nope. At that I don’t think there are many single men at our wedding, or women for that matter. We were keeping it to close family and friends, so I think if anything for women we only have 1 and men we might have like 2 or 3, but I’m unsure.

It is really not my style and FH doesn’t care either way so we’re canceling it!
