Keep or Cancel: Garter Toss?

I have to confess that I've never actually seen a garter toss in person! But apparently 37% of grooms still participate in this reception tradition! Will this toss tradition make the cut for your wedding? Do you want to keep or cancel this toss tradition? Photo from Red Gate Farms in Savannah, GA...

Cancel 100%. To me it’s super weird/awkward- def depends on your crowd. For our families, it’s a resounding yikes.

Keep! I don’t think it’s a big deal! It’s all fun! I like the above idea of having a key on it to open a prize! That’s pretty fun!

We haven’t discussed this yet but prob cancel. We’re having 50ish guests and maybe 4 are single (besides our kids).

Nope. No garter wearing means no garter throwing.

Haven't talked about that part yet with him. I don't know if he wants to do that or not. I do know that he wants to take the garter off! LOL

I don't really want to do this. It's another thing I have to buy

SO tacky. The idea of my FH up my dress in front of our families is absolutely horrifying. Not doing a bouquet toss either.

Maybe.... I won’t be wearing one and have no desire for my FH to remove one off me in front of so many people. I think it’s a cute idea for him to throw something

We are cancelling. My FH's grandparents will be there & I think it's weird & inappropriate

Cancel. Even if we were sticking to the traditional wedding, I never did care for it.

We did not do a garter toss! I didn’t even wear a garter. We also didn’t do a bouquet toss. Smiley smile

Cancel, We will have a different way to honor the longer married couples, rather than single out our unattached guests.

Keep. I'm going to sing Paris Oh La La as he takes it off so it will be a performance so it's not awkward, but rather entertaining. Then, just like the bouquet, it's all inclusive. ANYONE and EVERYONE is invited to catch free random things that are thrown into the air for no apparent reason.

Cancel because I don't care for it and don't want to embarrass people at my wedding if they don't want to do it.
