Reception toasts from your father, maid of honor, and best man can be incredibly moving and bring everyone to happy tears! 😭 That is, when the speeches are done well! On the other hand, they can also be awkward, embarrassing, and totally cringe-worthy when done poorly. What's your vote? Should we...

What's your vote? Should we put everyone out of their misery and cancel reception speeches? Or keep this personal and emotional toast tradition?

Keep! We are doing a sign up list like an open mic session and anyone that wants to say something, can. It doesn't have to be awkward, but I know for sure my fiancee wants to make a speech so we keep it for him.

I feel its a one time thing give them a nice stiff drink and tell them anti up . Im giving one so if i can do it as the bride then they can as my MOH and Bestman lol ...

My first instinct is to cancel this. I always find the speeches at weddings boring, too long, and sometimes inappropriate!
But I'll have to wait until it gets closer to decide for sure. I'll talk to some of my people and see how they feel about making speeches. If it were only up to me, I'd skip it.

I personally would not mind cancelling these in the slightest, but one of MOH's favorite pass times is writing/giving speeches and I don't know if I could just take that away from her, LOL.

Cancel. My Fad is too unpredictable when given an audience! He’d tell embarrassing stories and then be proud. My MOH isn’t crazy about public speaking so I’m not putting her through it. No idea how the best man feels.
