Keep or Cancel: Traditional Wedding Vows?

Still deciding! I want to write our own vows, but FH isn't really on-board right now. We will probably just personalize the traditional ones.

I don't mind traditional wedding vows, but we're writing our own.

We are doing our own vows but i still added a bit of the old in with my new vows. Not exactly for better or worse etc but it still has same meanings just different wordings and more to it in what our relationship has been through in our 6 years together !

Keep and cancel. Some traditional elements, some personal.

Keep parts / Cancel the rest! We love some parts of the traditional vows so we are going to keep them! The rest will be our own!

Keep. I wouldn't be any good at making my own vows.

Cancel. I want to add some personal touches to make it unique to us. I like the tradition and meaning behind traditional vows, but I would like to add some additional ones, just for us.

We're keeping it! The traditional version is typical for Catholic weddings. I looooove hearing other people do personal vows, but it's not us. We are writing each other personal letters before instead, but keeping those private.

I'm pretty sure we'll be doing some kind of combination of the traditional vows, mixed with whatever we decide to say to each other (obviously not written yet).

Cancel I hope! I really want us to write our own vows, FH is on the fence, so fingers crossed I can convince him before next month!

Cancel. I always thought we'd use regular vows until I started writing out the ceremony and I realized how much I just didn't care about them, so we scrapped it and wrote something that felt deeper.

Cancel - the traditional vows are to traditional.... we are doing a more spiritual (buddism) ceremony, so the vows are fitting that type of ceremony.

FH wants traditional vows I want personalized vows.

Cancel for us. We wrote our own vows but I did my own take on the traditional vows.

My sister was in the same situation, they ended up doing traditional vows but also read each other a personalized letter before exchanging their rings.
