Keeping my name, also taking his last two names

Kaity, on May 12, 2019 at 5:40 PM Posted in Married Life 0 4
I’m getting married soon and I just got my doctorate in occupational therapy, so I want to keep my last name as well as take his last names! He has two un-hyphenated last names, should I change my name to FirstName MiddleName MyLastName HisLastName-HisLast Name or FirstName MiddleName MyLastName HisLastName HisLast Name? Does anyone have any experience with this? Please let me know what you did!

What's the length of his last names and yours? Practice saying it a few times and writing it to see what is best. Although it he doesn't hyphenate, it might not make sense for you to.

I decided to not take my husband’s. I didn’t want to change all of my paperwork and go through the legal processes.

My cousin dropped her middle name and made her Maiden name her middle name and took his last name.

Welcome to the WeddingWire community, Kaity!

This is completely up to you and your FS! There's no rule.

Which sounds better to you both?

Would you consider taking it un-hyphenated if that is the way he spells his?
