Keto Diet/Low Carb

Private User, on October 28, 2014 at 2:55 PM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 11

Is anyone else doing a ketosis diet? Or cutting out carbs? Atkins?

I have 40 days before the wedding (12/6) and would like to lose about 10-15lbs. Is this realistic? I'm 128-130lbs and 5'5'' now.

Any tips or tricks would help from people who are doing atkins/keto are appreciated! Smiley smile If anyone else wants to join me, let me know! I want to have a beach body for our honeymoon in the Dominican Republic! Smiley smile

Atkins doesn't work for me unless I walk at least 30 minutes a day. So if you eat the low carb, and exercise, then you should be fine. You'd have to start today, if not tomorrow, if you were looking to lose that 10-15 lbs. in a little over a month.

I don't do low carb all the time, but I cycle carbs. On days that I am doing heavy workouts, like leg days, I'll eat more carbs. On days that I'm doing lighter workouts, I'll go lighter on carbs. At your height/weight, 10-15 lbs is probably unrealistic. I'm 5'7 and it took me a month to go from 128 to 124.

10-15 lbs sounds like quit a stretch to me.

Instead of focusing on lbs, make your focus this: eating well and increasing activity. Have everything you eat be for nutrition, and focus on protein and fiber. Mix in lots of veggies and water. I LOVED acai bowls for breakfast!

Be more active every day. Do squat and pushup challenges. Do 10 burpees. Do planks. Jumping jacks. Tricep dips.

Maybe i'll aim for more like 5-10 lbs. I really feel like I can swing like 5-10 lbs every week though, it is weird. Maybe I need a new scale. I've been trying to do Jillian Michaels 30 minute shred work outs and then bringing my dog for a 1-2 mile walk every night. That has helped. I also bought dumbells to use when ever I have a little down time, which is hardly ever.

Also usually the lowest weight a peson should be at your height is 125. So maybe you should speak with a dr before losing anymore weight to see if it is safe.

That isn't a realistic weightless goal.

I would do some research on body fat percentage.

    Try strength training/weight lifting.

I did have the atkins work for me in the past (and my family). My problem is cutting out the carbs. But, like everyone else has said, you have to add in the exercise. I work a desk job, so though out the day, I am doing squats and donkey kicks to keep me moving.

Your goal is extremely unrealistic! Please talk to your doctor before you consider losing 10-15lbs!! Aside from that, your dress will not fit the same of u lose that much weight... then youd need alterations. . And you wont have time for that.

I'm with Vanessa on this. You should speak with a doctor.
