Kids meal on response cards?

BridalGirl24, on February 22, 2017 at 4:40 PM Posted in Planning 0 19

Hello!

I'm getting ready to order my invites and everything, on my response cards there's room for three dishes, which works cuz we have prime rib, chicken, and the vegetarian, but we'll have about 4 kids attending. Do I need to somehow add on a kids meal line? How is anyone else Doing this? Do I just reach out to the parents ahead of time and say there will chicken fingers and fries for the children? Thanks so much!!

Yeah I've never seen them on response cards before so I'm unsure

I will also have a small amount of kids attending my wedding. I plan on just calling up the parents (FH's siblings) and just asking them if their child will eat a kids meal. I think since there aren't that many, you could do that easily.

I didn't include it on mine. For those with kids (and they are mostly under five), and their children were invited, I plan on reaching out and letting them know kids meal is this and if that's okay. Although, if more of my guests picked Mach and cheese and nuggets I wouldn't have been too offended (jk jk)

We printed out little cards with our invites (I think it was $2 for 30 of them and we only ended up using 15) that just said "A kids meal of chicken strips and veggies will be served to all our special guests under 10" and we just put those with the invites for families. Eliminated the need to clutter up the RSVP cards

I think if its a handful of kids, its easier to just contact the parents and confirm the menu choice for the kid. I will likely have to do the same for the handful of kids at our wedding.

Mini cards is a good idea! I also think it's fine to just contact those with kids, especially since you have so few.

I just wrote a note on their rsvp. I only have 4 kids invites, 2 of whom are mine.

We had more kids than that invited, so we made room on the card for the children's meal to be listed as an entree option.

I plan on just giving the parents' a call and asking if they would prefer kid's option.....and praying they say yes since it's less than 1/2 the cost of the adult entrees lol.

I would just add an extra card into the specific invites with people with kids notifying them their kids are taken care of already with a kid specific meal. Or call them.

I would add maybe a business card to the ones that are going to people with children and put one per child in the family that says:

    Child's Name_______

    Meal choice:

    ] Spaghetti & Garlic Bread

    ] Hamburger & Fries

    ] Chicken & Broccoli

If there are only 4 kids you wouldn't need to include a kids option. Just let the parents know. For me, there will be more kids so I wanted to include that even though the entree is the same (having a buffet) so we can get the right amount of food

We have a lot of people out of town coming in and have young children so I felt necessary to acknowledge. Plus most our on the grooms side so I don't have their numbers to call, and didn't feel like making FMIL call all her relatives. Just made sense for us!
