King's Table

Alisia, on November 1, 2016 at 11:12 AM Posted in Planning 0 12

We are planning our wedding and I am stuck on the whole wedding table aspect. We are having a wedding of around 200 people in a fairly large ballroom. I don't want a sweetheart table and I don't really care for a traditional head table. I do really like the idea of a kings table however, I don't our backs to our guests. The dance floor will be right in the middle of the ballroom and tables will be all around. I'm not really sure how to go about this.

We will probably have the two of us with our parents. Then we'll have the bridal party sitting with either members of the party or family..The grooms men will be in their late 30's and the bridesmaids will be in their early-mid 20's so I don't think they'll have a lot in common..so don't want to seat them all together.

Try maybe doing something like that? Have you guys with a select few and then have your bridal party at tables close by?

We are sitting at a round with our parents and siblings, just like the guests. We have a "sweetheart couch" for the reception

Hi Alisia, welcome to WW! Make sure to upload a picture for your avatar (instead of the default icons) so that we can get to know you and tell you apart from all the other posters.

We just sat at a regular 10 person round table like the rest of our guests Smiley smile We had both our parents and our siblings at the table with us, but you could have anyone you want!

Well, there really isn't much else to choose from. I haven't seen anything but a sweetheart table in like forever. I think I've only seen a couple head tables, per se, and they always look a little weird to me.

I think a Kings Table is for bride, groom, wedding party and their significant others as a head table would just be the wedding party. The way I've seen it is the table is two rectangle table pushed together to form a square table or a longer rectangle.

I was in a BP that had a kings table. It was set up like OGA's. I think because the BP i was in had a total of 26 people (12 BP members+SO+B&G) it was too big.

We did a head table. We just had people around the edge and left the side that would have A) put people in front of DH and me and B) where they would have had their backs to the dance floor open. Solved both issues of people wanting to come up and congratulate DH and me and people having their backs to the action.

I'm doing a king's table too, I don't think people will have too much issue with backs. I'm just rolling with it for now
