Kissing Balls??

Kim, on January 11, 2011 at 7:50 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 21

Hi!

I'm curious if anyone is making their own kissing balls for their wedding? I am planning on trying it, but I'm so unsure as to how many flower's one balls takes.

If anyone can help or give advice that would be great!!!

They are also called Pomander's. They are a Styrofoam ball with roses put on them, they are very elegant. They can be used for the ceremony, or even the reception.

I'm just curious on the pricing and where is the best place to go to buy the flower's.

LOL This is another one of those titles, not unlke STD, that makes people go "Whaaaaaat?"

These are kissing balls Smiley winking

The number of flowers will depend on what type you use, but I would guess over 100, if you are using buds.

    Lol, right!!

Yeah, I'm just thinking of a 6 in. ball, with white roses. Probably do fake flower's, they are cheaper!! :]

You can go really expensive with roses or orchids or keep it alot cheaper using mini carnations. The regular size are much too big. I'm a florist and the mini carnations hold up the best. It usually takes about 10 to 12 bunches from the jewel if you do it yourself ,depending on the size of the bunches. I always like to add an extra something at the top like leaves or crystals. If you want to put an alternating color on top I stick something nicer like a few spray roses or ochids at the top.My daughter is getting married this year and we are putting them down the asile with alot of bling. Good luck! Have fun!(o:

Kim.. Lol I am cracking up by your title. I am sorry sometimes I act 4. But I heard they are not that hard or stressful to make. I think they are lovely at the ceremony.

Kissing balls are a fantastic idea! SHould you run into any trouble, it is one of our specialities... THe # of flowers depend on the size of the ball you buy and the flowers you're using... go with a 4 inch ball and 50 mini roses for example! Again if you run into trouble feel free to drop us a line, we can make them at a fraction of the cost than you would normally receive! It is our goal to make platinum events without the platinum pricetag!

I have attached a photo of some we made for a promo!

So, I'm thinking of purchasing my kissing balls from Afloral.com . Has anyone heard anything about this website, whether it is a good place or not? I read a review saying that the lady purchased a 5" ball and was very upset because it was the size of a soft ball when she got it.

I'm wondering if I bought a 6 in. styrofoam ball and then added flower's how much bigger does the ball normally get?
