Kitchenaid Stand Mixers: Artisan vs. Architect

Catti Labelle, on December 24, 2017 at 11:15 AM Posted in Registry 0 9

Hey all, as I'm building and revising my registries before I make them public, I would really love to add a Kitchenaid stand mixer. I've noticed the Artisan is the most popular and common model on the market, but I like the Cocoa Silver color in the Architect line the best (I think it's the closest to the Satin Copper custom metallic, but the price tag is too hefty, IMO). Is there a difference between the two models?

If your registry isn't full of really high end expensive items I think it's perfectly fine too have one or two items that are up there in price. A group could go on together to get it or if you don't get it you usually get a discount after the wedding to complete your registry. We added a VitaMix to ours. It's $700 so I know I probably won't get it for the wedding but I'll use the discount after to get it for myself. I've wanted it for YEARS and they last forever. Plus the company is amazing to work with for replacements when needed.

I have the artisan, I love it too but wish I would have gotten the professional instead. It raises the bowl up and down instead of having to tilt the head every time.

I believe the pro line and architect have more horsepower and are a little more durable. I have the 6-qt 600 pro in copper pearl. It’s not as metallic as the regular copper, but it is more affordable.

I actually prefer to tilt the head instead of lifting and lowering the bowl. Maybe go to the store and put your hands on a few to see what your preference would be.

I have the artisan and use it 3-4x a week and love it. I don't know what the difference between the two is, but I imagine either one would be fine for the average household. Smiley smile

We have the artisan and love it. You could always put both and see what you get. It might be a good gift for a group of people to buy together as what sometime happens. If you have multiple registries maybe put one on one store and the other on the other store.

Thanks for the advice! I might just have to drag myself to a store to check them out to see what I like best.
