Kleinfeld... Worth it?

Sierra, on June 7, 2017 at 9:40 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 49

I'm considering to go to Kleinfeld Bridal, but I've been hearing very mixed things about them. My budget is $2000, so I don't know if it will be worth it for me. I also don't want to be pressed to buy a dress like car salesman do.

Also, does anyone know of nice Bridal stores in Michigan? I'm having trouble finding some!

You're in Michigan and you're going to fly into NYC just to go to a bridal store?

I'd save the money on plane tickets and put it toward your dress.

Honestly 2K is low for Kleinfields- I'd go somewhere locally and try on dresses there.

My FSIL went with the intention of trying on gowns just for the fun of it. I really don't think it was worth the trip for her (with a similar budget, I believe), and we only live 2 hours outside of the city.

I went to bridals by lori. They were amazing but they did pull dresses above my budget, i assumed they would stay with my budget but did not find out unt I fell in love that dresses were too expensive. Just make sure to tell them you budget is very strict and you dont want to go a penny above.

I wouldn't go to kleinfelds with 2000. I've read they pretty much start at 3000. I think they have a few dresses in your budget but it's limited. Honestly I wouldn't waste money on a plane ticket and I would put that money to my dress budget and go locally.

ETA- also when I see them sell someone a 2000 dollar dress it's always really really plain with barely any detail. They are very expensive.

If $2000 is your budget then I don't think the trip to Kleinfeld would be worth it for you but if you feel it's something you really want to do then go ahead! Maybe you'll get lucky. They also have a sample sale store they opened recently that's right across the street from kleinfeld called the kleinfeld sample studio and all those dress are on sale and off the rack. Good luck on your dress search!

I'm not from Michigan but I am 100% positive they have nice bridal stores. Google it. You may have to drive a bit depending on what kind of area you live in.

I didn't have the greatest experience at Kleinfeld. I went in with a fairly high budget and the consultant kept pulling the type of dresses I specifically told her I didn't like just because they were on the higher end of my budget. I also felt like it was crowded and too "big" for me and lacked the personalized experience I got at smaller boutiques.

I'm from SE Michigan as well. I'm willing to drive a ways, but I can't find a place that sells some designers I like. I just know Kleinfeld has a huge selection, but with my budget I don't know how many dresses they would be able to pull.

I went to Kleinfelds with a 3k budget and they didn't have much to show me.. I also felt pressured to try on more expensive dresses. Definitely not worth it with a 2k budget. Any of the dresses they have that are 2k, you'll be able to find in Michigan. The only reason to go there is if you're set on one of their exclusive designers, and those dresses will usually start around 5k.

I don't think it's worth it with a 2k budget - you can find a beautiful dress for 2k at a local shop I'm sure!

RK Bridal has way more gowns- and a lot more flexible budget.

Don't forget BHLDN- you can order and have them shipped to you.

I'm in SE Michigan. Try Dior Bridal in Dearborn, The Perfect Dress in Trenton (got mine there), Bella Donna's in Wyandotte, Bombshell Bridal in St Clair Shores. It's definitely not worth going to Kleinfeld for a 2k budget. You could also try Beautiful Bridal by Keasha Rigsby on Detroit, she was actually a consultant at Kleinfeld and was on SYTTD for a while.

I agree with pp not worth the trip. Try the vendor tab for bridal places in Michigan. I'm sure that you will find something beautiful.

I'm really interested in Hayley Paige. She has a couple specific dresses in my price range I'd like to try, but I can't find her anywhere besides Kleinfeld.

Also keep in mind that hotels in NYC plus flight could easily be upwards of $500. unless you were already planning to be out there/have a place to stay, i would look locally and put that money towards your gown!

Go to HP's website and there should be a list of places where her gowns are sold. When I found a designer I liked, that's what I did.

I'm in Ohio and I went to a bridal shop in northern Ohio and it was the cutest and brightest shop and they had A LOT of selections of dresses, belts you name it. I got my dress and veil for around $1,800. It's called Twirl, the owner is such a sweetheart. You should check them out, they're a lot closer than New York that's for sure.

Yep- hotels usually start at 200 a night- anything under that you're likely to find yourself in a shit hole.

Tickets are currently around 300 to get from MI to NYC. - I would expect to spend no less than 700 on your tip (b/c even a bottle of water is like 5 bucks)...

that's 700 you could use to put toward your dress.
