KWR: Photobooks & Artifact Uprising

C&N, on November 13, 2017 at 5:45 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 7

Has anyone used Artifact Uprising? Are they worth the extra cost over Shutterfly, Mixbook, etc? I was thinking of doing Mixbook for a book for our parents and spending the extra on Artifact Uprising for our album, but don't know anyone who has used them. Thanks!

I haven't used them myself but I have a co-worker who swears by them who told me to use them. I am impressed with their site and reviews. Def going to follow through once I get my pics back!

Hi C&N, I used Artifact Uprising for my wedding album. They're a great company with responsive customer service, nice book designs, and outstanding quality products. That being said, I mistakenly thought the pages of my photobook were going to be more like photo paper (i.e. glossy and crisp). Instead, they are more like regular paper. Thicker and nicer paper, of course, but still not what I had pictured in my mind. You may be fine with that, or even explicitly want that matte look, but I just wanted to let you know because it caught ME off guard, and although I loved almost everything about my photobook, I still can't get over the photos not being glossy.

    Good luck!

Thanks! I'm okay with the matte look, but stuck between the hardcover and layflat album. I've used the Shutterfly and Snapfish books before, but sounds like this is the higher quality that I'm looking for, it just is expensive!

@C&N: I think unless you're going to do a lot of two-page spreads, the price increase for the lay-flat album, is not really worth it, but it's really up to you.

If you haven't already done so, I suggest you create an account with AU. They send out coupons from time to time. What really pushed me to order mine was a one-day coupon code for 20% off. Yes, please! Smiley tongue
