Our wedding date is 9/4/2021 and I feel like time is flying! How are you brides feeling about your September wedding and COVID-19? Our Oklahoma venue still has capacity limits set and is only offering buffet options instead of plated (soooo frustrating as plated was one main reason we booked them!). Our DOC through our venue is amazing, but we just keep getting the "hopefully the restrictions will lift before then" response and no actual confirmation on how we should plan our menu or invites. Have any of you made a game plan on how to cut your guest list if you must? We invited 230 guest for our original 3/20/2021 date and I'd hate to have to come back and say "sorry you can't come anymore...." to 80 people we already sent STD's to.

Ours is 9/4 and it feels like time is flying by. We live in Texas but having ours in downtown Charleston, SC at a friends restaurant. It was a win win because we are supporting a local historical restaurant and also getting an amazing rooftop view for the ceremony and the fabulous whiskey bar for the reception. We opted for apps brought by servers since we want everyone to enjoy the spaces and not feel confined. Our size is only around 50 people so it’s pretty person with family and close friends. Very low key for a lesbian wedding but we wanted to focus on who is closest to us and also celebrate them being part of our journey instead of just inviting everyone in our lives.

Yes! Wedding date twin here Smiley smile We are feeling pretty good about our 9/4/21 with most of our family and friends already getting at least the first dose of the vaccine. We did cut down our guest list from around 140 now to 70. My plan is to send out a “we’ve downsized due to covid” type of notice to those that we sent a STD to but that we will not be sending a formal invitation to. Hopefully this helps!

Same here! Getting married 9/4/21! Thankfully we started planning last year and haven’t had to change our dates, which I’ve been so grateful about! We kept our wedding small, around 80 people, and thankfully that’s the limit the venue has put on it for now. I’m sure things will be different when the time comes around, but it is definitely crazy how fast time has been flying!

Hi! I have the same date! I live in Massachusetts and am doing a DIY wedding at a farm venue in CT. Restrictions are currently at 150 outside, which is just under our current guest list so I feel okay about it. I have already made a 50 person guest list incase crap hits the fan, but I'm not expecting it to. I chose to have a buffet option and think it will work out better! I have a tasting this weekend and am very excited to eat all the goodies!

Hi! 9/4 bride here too! I am so sorry to hear that you’re dealing with all that! As if it’s not enough stress planning your wedding!! We live in California with some of the stricter restrictions but they are supposed to be lifted by June! Our restaurants are now seating in doors and everything as well. So far we haven’t run into any issues regarding COVID and out venue has not threatened to cancel or scale it down. We have a guest list of 135 at hidden hollow which is a private event venue that is owned and operated by the people that live on the property! All that being said it’s coming up super quick! And if I had to scale back and had already sent STD, I know some places are offering date change for free for std and I would send another one to the people you cannot have in person and maybe figure out a way to do a virtual ceremony if you’re up for it! That way even the people that can’t physically be there can also feel part of your big day! Just an idea Smiley smile

I'm getting married 9/5/2021. I live in Texas so all of the restrictions have been lifted. The place I'm getting married at does everything from arranging the flowers, making the cakes, cooking the food and serving it, to even having a small house that the bridesmaids and bride stay at over night before the wedding. I think the limit of people is 100 but we are having a small wedding so there won't be that many people there.

Illinois is a bit more lenient - as long as everyone is vaccinated we can have things as planned. For cutting your guest list, I would try to pick "essential" people whom you want there (close family & very close friends). See where you're at with numbers and how many you can add from there. I would not to pick people based on etiquette or what people will think, but the main people with whom you want to treasure your day.

My wedding is 9/5/21. The time is flying by so quickly. We will have a mixture of traveling family and local family members. I hope by September there is a greater chance of everyone coming. So far invites are slowly trickling in. I just have a few things left to secure like a hair and makeup artist. I’m struggling!

Mine is on 09/05/2021. It has been a bit frustrating because we can’t know for sure who will be coming. We kept the list pretty small and some of them already said that they do not know because of the Pandemic and also it is a holiday weekend so a lot of ppl going on vacation. I wanted to cancel de venue and just elope since we are going to be a small amount of people going but I will lose the $3000 deposit. Not feeling great about my big day.

I am also getting married on 9/5 in NE sounds like restriction should be better by then we are still required to wear a masks but hoping they might remove that before the day.But I’m not gonna complain if I can still have the wedding with the 170 people I want.

    Hi Lydia,

Congratulations wedding month twin!!! We are getting married on 9/5/21!!! It’s been so much to think about because we started with 50 people and now we have 85. The problem is it’s only 6 to a table and now we have 15 tables to decorate from 6 tables. The prices are so much higher during this time with everything. Covid is not playing fair at all. Hope things work out for you all!!
